Corsair Force Series MP600 1TB NVMe PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD Review

AMD has ushered in the PCIe Gen4 era with their newest processors and chipsets. For the past couple of years AMD has been making inroads with enthusiast by offering better value with their Ryzen Series platforms. AMD's 1xxx Ryzen and 2xxx platforms, while powerful, were no threat to Intel's performance superiority. Now, with the launch of their 3xxx Ryzen technology, AMD has pulled off the seemingly impossible feat of supplanting Intel as the performance king. Enthusiasts have gone crazy for AMD's Zen 2 platform and for good reason. Zen 2 brings with it more performance for less money than anything Intel is serving up these days. For these reasons, AMD has almost overnight become the De Facto King of the enthusiast space. Additionally, Zen 2 brings to the masses more forward technology than Intel currently has to offer.

MSI RX 5700 Gaming X Review

After the first minutes with the new MSI RX 5700 XT a déjà-vu attacked me, because I suddenly had the legendary MSI R9 390 X 8G in mind again. Fast thing, a bit hot and by no means a despiser of food, on the contrary. Well, as you know, power comes from fuel and that’s why MSI has aligned itself to it. The concept to bring the fastest RX 5700 XT on the market so far has certainly paid off. I can spoil that much. Of course, we’re still talking about the possible consequences.

In times when school-age girls sail the Atlantic because of the climate, such a current-red packaging of course always makes itself a bit bad. That’s why in a second benchmark run I also trimmed this card to the state of the reference card using our MorePowerTool in order to recognize the actual character behind the construction. The proposed silent solution about MSI’s new Dragon Center would certainly also be an option, but since the software also changes Windows’ energy plan, among other things, I’m leaving it at that. MPT and done!

Raspberry Pi clone sports 1.84GHz Intel Cherry Trail processor

Radxa has posted specs for a new member of its community backed “Rock Pi” Raspberry Pi lookalike SBC family, this time with an Intel Cherry Trail Atom x5-Z8300, USB 3.0, MicroSD, HDMI, eDP/MIPI, and GbE, plus optional WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 LE.

In June, Radxa unveiled its Rock Pi S SBC that runs Linux on a RK3308 and updated its RK3399-based Rock Pi 4 with extra memory. Now, Radxa is preparing to add to that family of Raspberry Pi pseudo clones with an SBC called Rock Pi X, based on the Intel “Cherry Trail” Atom x5-Z8300. We learned about the new board from our friends at Hackerboards, who added the Rock Pi X to its database yesterday.

Toshiba N300 10TB NAS Hard Drive Review

Thanks to the increased density and buffer size, we are seeing an increase of performance of the 10TB N300 versus the 8GB variant, matching the rated data transfer speeds from the product datasheet. The seek operations can be clearly heard when the drive is installed into a computer case, but this should be a non-issue when using the product in a home or SMB NAS. N300 was designed to operate in multi-drive NAS setups, so they have RV sensors integrated for detecting shocks and compensate rotational vibration.
