Elite Screens ezCinema Plus 100
As some of you know we use a few projectors at our LAN events. In between events I have been known to setup a projector in the office to watch a movie, watch eSport streams, and even play a few games. The problem I have in the office is our textured walls don’t exactly give the best picture. Because of that and because we would like more flexibility for setting up at our events I have been on the lookout for a projector screen for a while now. My requirements were something that is portable, so it can be taken to our events no matter their location, easy/quick to setup, and of course, I would like it to give the best picture possible in different environments. I came across a company called Elite Screens that manufactures a wide selection of screens and found the ezCinema Plus Series that fit our requirements and even didn’t break the bank. Today I’m going to take a look at the ezCinema Plus in its largest size (100 inches) and see how well it performs.Read full article @ LanOC Reviews
Hands on with the ECS LIVA Mini PC Kit
At ECS’s LIVA, LEAD, L337 press event this week in Silicon Valley we were able to go hands on with their LIVA Mini PC Kit. They are dubbing this kit the world’s smallest Windows based Mini PC Kit. The LIVA has actually been out for a little while now, but at the event ECS announced the 64 GBversion (white). The black version of the LIVA is the 32 GB version. The unit itself is only 118 x 70 x 56 mm and weighs in at 190g, so yes it is very small. The device only uses 15W of power at full load and 4W during standby so it uses no more power than a light bulb!Read full article @ ThinkComputers.org

QNAP HS-210 Network Attached Storage Review
Hello guys, Jonathan Kwan here. In this multi-author review, I would just like to start off with a little story before passing the time on to my colleague Preston Yuen for the next few pages. Earlier last week, I received a text message in the morning from a friend, asking if I was interested in seeing "Guardians of the Galaxy". Because I have spent pretty much the entire first week of August hanging out every night -- with pretty much the exactly the same group of people, no joke -- I decided it was probably a wise choice to catch up on some work instead. As such, I politely declined, and asked her to let me know how the movie went. The next day, I saw her, and asked her how it turned out. As the story unfolded, after spending all this effort in coordinating an event to watch "Guardians of the Galaxy" as a group, she actually did not show up herself. If this story sounds familiar to you, yes, this is the same story from a different perspective told by my colleague Aaron Lai in his XTracGear Carbonic review a few days ago. Now, why would anyone invite people out to a movie and ditch out the last minute is absolutely beyond me, but there is something to be learned that is completely relevant to our product review today. The question to ask is, will the group have gotten together on that day, in that time, at that place, if my friend did not coordinate the event? Just by pure statistics, I highly doubt it. As you can see here, even if someone does not appear in the foreground, by working silently in the background, and quite literally out of sight, you can definitely still get something going. The same philosophy is what QNAP presents to us in the HS-210 network attached storage system. Designed to be fanless, compact, and working silently in the background, will the HS-210 deliver on all the features and services you need? We have one here at APH Networks to find out.Read full article @ APH Networks
