Cryorig R1 Ultimate CPU Cooler Review

It is always great to hear about small companies making the headlines in the computer market, but we have seemed to miss a note here. Although Benchmark Reviews has been around long enough to review cooling solutions from most manufacturers in the market, this is the first time we look at a product from Cryorig; a company that has gotten a lot of momentum since it’s first release back in 2013. Today, we take a look at the Cryorig R1 Ultimate, Cryorig’s first attempt of impressing us with a product they claim is an accumulation of years of design and research.

Fractal Design Core 2500 Case Review

Thirdly and probably most importantly is the “Bang for the Buck” aspect of the Fractal Design Line of computer cases. They exceed standards that other companies have almost ignored and throughout this new direction of a better global price equilibrium for a more growing world market, Fractal Design has done just that without sacrificing material quality and superior design and gives what you more than a buyer would expect out of any of the cases that Fractal Design makes. In essence Fractal Design cases are not engineered to brake your pocket or kill a credit card limit but instead to give the buyer a quality and excellence that actually exceeds the monetary value of the case itself. With these factors in mind, I would like to get on with this review of Fractal Designs newest entries into the Econo-Class market, The CORE 2500; and later the Fractal Design CORE 1500 review coming soon.

HP Stream 7 Review

For such a low cost device, the hardware is surprisingly decent. You’ll get a quad-core CPU, 32GB of storage and an IPS touchscreen (1280x800). It’s not going to win any benchmark competitions, but it’ll happily power browsers and other non-intensive applications. The 1GB of memory is the real bottleneck, but what more can you expect for the price.

In terms of connectivity, all of the essentials are there. Having a USB port is a massive advantage over some tablets, as almost all USB accessory hardware will work on a Windows platform. Only a micro-B USB 2.0 port is included (to save space), so you may need a cheap adaptor to plug in some devices if they require the larger USB-A port that some PC peripherals use. Sadly there is no mini-HDMI port, which would have opened up a lot of interesting possibilities.

LG G4 Review: A Competent, Capable Android Alternative

The LG G4 is being marketed as a high-end, flagship device and you may wonder why there's a six-core Snapdragon 808 within rather than an octa-core Snapdragon 810. Recently, a Qualcomm spokesperson answered this very question: "The difference between the chips is that the 810 is scaled for end-to-end 4K and it’s our flagship. The 808 scales for end-to-end 2k and it still captures 4k video but it’s not built to display 4k natively on a screen."

In other words, the LG G4 apparently was engineered to work efficiently with its 2560x1440 Quad HD display.

With an off-contract starting price of $650 (2 year contract MSRP not final yet), the LG G4 is right in line with other hero devices like the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S 6. We'll seek to answer two primary questions in this review. First, is the G4 worthy of being classified in with flagships such as the afformentioned? Second, is the G4 somehow differentiated enough to be the go-to choice for a smaller niche that want features like expandable storage and a removable battery?

Let's find out...

MSI GS60 2QE Ghost Pro 4K Review

MSI's thin gaming laptop gets a 4K screen and GTX 970M graphics. Isn't it nice when manufacturers listen to feedback from customers and critics? MSI seems to have done exactly that by launching a new-and-improved version of its 15.6in GS60 gaming laptop that addresses many of our initial concerns.

Cast your memory back to last year's review of the GS60 2PC Ghost, and you may recall that while the machine had merit, the use of single-channel memory and a last-generation Nvidia GPU took away some of the appeal, and a sub-four-hour battery life certainly didn't help.

Philips Brilliance BDM4065UC (40 Inch 4K) Monitor Review

The BDM4065UC is possibly the largest 4K PC display on the market, with a whopping 40-inch diagonal screen size. It’s absolutely huge, resembling the size of many living-room family televisions. It uses a VA LCD panel with a typical W-LED backlight. With standard 8-bit colour, along with a 3ms SmartResponse G2G pixel latency, it’s more for general-purpose use and gaming than for colour-accurate graphic design work.

Tesoro Lobera Spectrum Review: Gaming in Style

What makes a keyboard a "gaming" type does not always come down to features that are necessarily useful while playing. Although not exclusive to gaming keyboards, aggressive designs, mechanical switches, and backlit keys compliment the gamer aesthetic and thus have become closely associated with what is expected from high-end units. The backlit LED mechanical switch frontier is now in the … Read more.

The ASUS ZenFone 2 Preview

ASUS is not new to the smartphone market. Since the days of Windows Mobile (not the new Windows Mobile) theyve been selling smartphones. But when it comes to Android devices theyve been primarily focused on tablets. ASUS worked with Google to design and manufacture both generations of the Nexus 7, which was beloved by Android enthusiasts. Their Padfone devices were an attempt to have a smartphone that attached to a tablet shell to make a sort of 2-in-1 smartphone and tablet. But only recently has the company started making a serious push into the Android smartphone space. Their ZenFone line of phones consists of several devices, with the newest being the ZenFone Zoom and the ZenFone 2, the latter being the device Im looking at today. While the full review is yet to come, you can continue on to see my initial impressions of the new ASUS ZenFone 2.
