Acer Aspire R 13 Convertible 2-in-1 Review

Acer is hoping to attract users who want flexibility with the company’s latest Aspire R 13 convertible notebook. Featuring their semi-unique "Ezel Aero" hinge, the R 13 can convert between various notebook and tablet style modes, giving you six different usage positions in a thin and light design.

The Acer Aspire R 13 measures less than an inch thick and weighs just over 3 pounds. You’ll find a 13.3-inch touch screen display with two resolution options depending on model chosen. This display is affixed to a hinge at the sides which enables it to rotate 180-degrees. For greater stability, Acer uses a forged U-frame around the display and encases the touchscreen and lid in a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass 3...

Acer UT220HQL Review

Acer's UT220HQL ($199, £125, AU$255) is an excellent option for PC owners who want a larger display than what's available on a laptop, but also require a touchscreen. It's an easy way to add touch to an older PC or laptop to take advantage of all the gestures enabled on Windows 8, 8.1, and 10. For modern laptop owners, the built-in touch support on the UT220HQL is also a convenient way to gain the benefits of working on a larger panel without losing the touchscreen. With a 21.5-inch full HD screen, the UT220HQL can be found for as little as $146 (£91, AU$187) at some online retailers. It's a very competitive offering considering that many other 21- to 24-inch panels cost about as much but don't include touch. The Acer UT220HQL competes in the same space as full HD monitors like the 24-inch BenQ EW2440 ($220, £140, AU$285), 21.5-inch Samsung SD300 series ($149, £93, AU$191) and 22-inch LG 22MP57HQ-P ($159, £100, AU$204), but none of these options come with touchscreens.

AMD A8 7650K APU Review – The Little APU That Could

Oftentimes we will get people asking us about building a gaming PC on a budget, with the ability to upgrade in the future. Well today we will be bringing you our AMD A8 7650K (http://technologyx.us7.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=3d9b6193ffd32dd60e84fc74b&id=e76638deca&e=312ec141fb) review, which is priced aggressively and certainly packs a punch.

This APU can be used in a variety of ways, like a low budget gaming PC with room for upgrades, a HTPC, heck even cheap work stations aren’t out of the realm of possibility, but before we make any bold claims lets take a look at its performance.

Dell has extended its PowerEdge C-Series with a new model designed for high-performance computing (HPC), big data and hyper-converged infrastructure deployments, combining Intel's Xeon E5-2600 v3 server chips with up to 72TB of local storage.

The PowerEdge C6320 is the latest addition to Dell's 13th generation PowerEdge server portfolio, which launched following the arrival of Intel's Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors last year.

Inateck 3-port USB Hub and KM Switch Review

USB hubs arent the most exciting of tech products. I mean, theyre USB hubs, right? They do one job. They add an extra few USB ports to what youve got already. Boring. Right? Not necessarily. Meet the Inateck 3-port USB3 Hub with Magic Port. Its rare you see an interesting take on something so utilitarian and tedious as a USB port, but somehow they managed to do it. The Inateck 3-port hub is more than just a USB hub, though. Costing just $24.99 on Amazon, it allows you to share files between computers, without having to use an external hard drive or Dropbox....

Intel Core i7-5775C Broadwell Processor Review

We managed to get our hands on an Intel Core i7-5775C processor and have spent the past week using and benchmarking the newest desktop processor from Intel. This processor idles at 800 MHz when your system is not being used and then can run at up to 3700 MHz depending on the workload you are doing. The Intel Core i7-5775C is just a 65W TDP processor thanks to having mobile roots. This is a far cry from the 84W TDP seen on the Intel Core i7-4790K processor, but keep in mind it tops out at 3700MHz and not 4400MHz! Read on to see how it performs!

Logitech G910 Orion Spark

With Corsair locking in an exclusivity deal on the Cherry RGB key switches for their first year and in general with Cherry switches being on backorder sometimes over a year out it’s no surprise that a lot of the manufactures have been reaching out to other options. Razer uses an MX style knockoff with their specifications, SteelSeries introduced their QS1 switch with their new mechanical keyboard, and Logitech actually introduced their new Romer G switches all the way back in September of last year. Well the G910 that houses the Romer G switches has been extremely popular and only a few weeks ago did we finally get one in to test out. I loved the G710+ but with the G910 changing everything from the ground up I really have no idea what to expect. That said I’m excited to see how the new switches perform and find out if the new design is a good as the changes they have made in their mouse lineup have been.

PowerColor PCS+ R9 390 8GB Review

As a performance piece, the PowerColor PCS+ R9 390 offers a lot under the hood for its $329 price tag. To start, we get a core that is factory clocked to 1010MHz and 8GB of GDDR5 memory that is again pumped up to 1500MHz right out of the box. This gives it the tools to compete with the R9 290X and make a run at the GTX 970. In most of the tests, however, it just fell short of the mark when trying to match the performance of the GTX 970. In some games it did out perform the GTX 970, but as a whole the bump in clock speed and doubling of the memory is just not enough to get there. The moral of the story is to find out which card is the faster card in the games you play.

SilverStone Fortress FT05 (Silver W/ Window) (SST-FT05S-W) Review

The Revolutionary SilverStone FT05 is the fifth generation Fortress computer chassis SilverStone has offered. This one offers the same 90° rotated motherboard that the Raven series offers but SIlverStone has completely removed the 5 1/4 inch drive bays that clutter so many chassis. You would think that computer case manufacturers would do two things, take all the Molex connectors out of a chassis and use 3 or 4 pin fan connectors and limit themselves to one or two 5 1/4 inch drive bays. Many enthusiasts completely do away with 5 1/4 drive bays preferring to digitally download or use USB drives to load software.

We are somewhat behind the curve in getting completely rid of Optical drives in our test rigs so SilverStone was nice enough to include a Slimline (Laptop Type) DVD/CD burner that fits nicely into the Fortress FT05 Optical Storage for the Fortress FT05. The SOD02 is a beautiful little piece of hardware in itself and is a slot loaded DVD / CD burner that fits innocuously behind a small barely noticeable slot on the front of the FT05.

Thermaltake ToughPower DPS G 1050W Power Supply Unit Review

At first glance to most people power supply units may not seem to have advanced much compared to the ones we used to check almost a decade ago but in reality most of their interior components have, some just a bit and some quite a lot. Regardless of that however the same "principles" that applied even 10 years ago apply today (perhaps even more so due to the cost of multi-GPU setups) and so we always recommend using good quality power supply units to avoid any unpleasant issues for your hardware and of course to provide optimal stability (especially for overclocked systems). Now as many of you are well aware the safest and fastest way for consumers to "rate" a power supply unit is to check its 80 Plus efficiency certification and although the top of the line Titanium models offer the highest possible electricity savings currently and thus make use of the highest quality components they don't land far from the Platinum and Gold ones. The ToughPower DPS G 1050W model is one such 80 Plus Gold certified PSU and we have it with us today to see how it ranks in the market.

The beginning of every myth and legend is about dreams and desire: the challenging, creative and combative features of Thermaltake Group create an exciting and fascinating user experience to share with everyone, while allowing users to enter a selfless state in terms of function and potential. Thermaltake Group's 3 main brands: Thermaltake, Tt eSPORTS and LUXA2 have been merchandising throughout the world, and have successfully established 6 business footholds in areas such as Europe, America, Oceania, Japan and China, with 95 regional distributors and over 4000 premium retailers. All product planning is orientated by observation of global PC peripheral market and understanding of consumer demands. Thermaltake creates direct contact opportunities with resellers and consumers by participating major global ICT exhibitions and trade shows every year, and develop innovative marketing strategies for the promotions of new products. Meanwhile, Thermaltake incorporates the composite marketing system by making branch offices and regional distributors both the distribution channel and technical support or service center to provide instant support; by maintaining close contact with end users, we manage to strengthen corporate competitiveness and create the momentum for the growth of accomplishments. With its outstanding wisdom and strength Thermaltake Group is recruiting creative talents to build a cultural brand for the enjoyment of entertainment, e-Sports, technology and lifestyle!

The ToughPower family of PSUs by Thermaltake spans well over a decade now but the DPS G is the first line (available in 450/550/650/750/850/1050W) to reach our lab that packs a digital controller over its analog circuits allowing the user to monitor various data from the unit via the DPSapp software such as the watts used, rail voltages, amperage, unit efficiency, fan speed (you can also adjust the speed of the fan) and much more. The ToughPower DPS G 1050W has a peak output of 1260W and also features (as does the entire DPS G line) a fully-modular design (future-proof), single powerful +12V rail, low-noise 140mm PWM dual ball bearing fan and 100% Japanese electrolytic capacitors. It’s been a while since we last had a PSU by Thermaltake on our test bench so time to check it out.
