The headset is advertised as being 'Real Gear For Real Gamers,' and the unit itself certainly continues Cougar's distinct orange and black theme. Being a traditionally wired unit, there is no inbuilt wireless or Bluetooth connectivity here.

Crucial BX300 480GB SSD Review

If you are looking for a budget 2.5-inch SATA SSD you’ll quickly find that many are using TLC NAND Flash memory. TLC NAND has come a long way in recent years, but after a number of poorly implemented solutions have come to market it has some enthusiasts avoiding them. The Crucial BX300 series was launched in August 2017 as a budget drive that uses 3D MLC NAND with SLC caching! This should appeal to those that don’t want a drive using TLC NAND Flash memory. Say goodbye to the Crucial BX200 with TLC NAND Flash that came out in November 2015!

The Crucial BX300 series is made up of 2.5-inch SATA 6Gb/s SSDs that is available in capacities of 120GB ($59.99), 240GB ($87.99), and 480GB ($144.99). Sequential performance is rated at up to 555MB/s read and 510MB/s write on all three capacities. When it comes to 4K Random IOPS performance all three are rated at 90K write, but differ in read performance. For example the 120GB drive is rated at just 45K IOPS, the 240GB drive is rated at 84K IOPS and the 480GB drive is rated at 95K IOPS. All Crucial BX300 drives come with a 7mm to 9.5mm spacer and a serial number for Acronis True Image HD 2015 software for easy data migration.

HWINFO gets support for AMD Starship and Mattise CPUs

The latest changelog from HWINFO lists unreleased technology from Intel and AMD. Ice Lake-SP, AMD Mattise/Starship HWINFO now recognizes upcoming Pinnacle Ridge chipset for 400-series motherboards. Those are expected somewhere in March with availability officially planned for April. The 400-series chipset is meant for Zen+ processors, but it's not mandatory upgrade for those who already own AM4 motherboards. Intel's next-gen server CPU codenamed Ice Lake-SP is also making an appearance. A derivative of server architectures is often used for enthusiast desktop platform. So far the only architecture listed in long-term roadmaps was Cascade Lake-X (planned for Q4 2018).

HyperX Cloud Alpha Gaming Headset Review

Back in 2014 HyperX released their original Cloud Headset. It was a headset that offered incredible performance at a great price, at the time it was the undisputed best gaming headset under $100. Then in 2015 the HyperX Cloud II came out, again we were blown away. I have been using that headset as my main headset since reviewing it. So when HyperX told us they have a successor to the Cloud II I knew it had big shoes to fill. On top of great sound performance the Cloud headsets were some of the most comfortable out there. So today we are checking out the new Cloud Alpha, which has a similar design to the Cloud II, but brings with it a new dual chamber driver design. The dual chambers separate the bass from the mids and highs, allowing optimal tuning for cleaner, smoother sound. Let’s take a look a see if this headset will become our new gaming headset!
