About a year ago I became interested in digital photography, so I saved up my nickels and pennies and bought a digital camera, a Canon PowerShot A50. Thinking I was pretty smart and with a big grin on my face I quickly filled my, now tiny, 8 megabyte compact flash card with pictures of my house, pets, car, family and of course a couple of my feet. Excitedly I found the funny looking serial cable in the box and hooked my camera to my PC via the mini-jack on the camera. After fumbling with the software and rereading the manual I figured out how to transfer the pictures to my computer. Oh boy! I was almost there, a few more clicks and I should have my digital works of art transferred and ready to go. I wish. Almost a half-hour later the small (8mb) amount of pictures were finally transferred. A half-hour! There was no way this was acceptable, I´m the kind of guy who will tape a TV show so I can fast-forward through the commercials.Read more
