ASUS STRIX GeForce GTX 970 Graphics Card Review

ASUS’s STRIX Series started with AMD’s R9 280 series and NVIDIA’s GTX 780. From there the series has branched out to gaming peripherals, many of which we have also reviewed. STRIX has become ASUS’s mainstream gaming line behind their higher-end republic of gamers line. So when it comes to graphics card STRIX has effectively replaced the DirectCU line. While the cards still make use of variations of the DirectCU cooler, the marketing has changed to STRIX, which we feel is better anyways. That brings us to the card we are reviewing today, the STRIX GeForce GTX 970. The card features a nice factory overclock of 1114 MHz core and 1253 MHz GPU Boost, ASUS’s DirectCU II cooling with 0dB fan technology, which means the card will only run once it reaches a certain temperature threshold, a 6-phase DIGI+VRM design with Super Alloy Power and much more! Let’s see what this card can do!

be quiet! Silent Base 800 (window) Review

KitGuru had a sneak preview of the be quiet! Silent Base 800 Window at Computex and now we have got our hands on the finished case (we’re still waiting to see the Silent Base 600, however (http://www.kitguru.net/components/cases/anton-shilov/be-quiet-demonstrates-silentbase-600-chassis-at-computex-2015/) ). The quick take is that the Silent Base 800 is unchanged, the windowed panel is substantial and well engineered and the price has been increased to account for the new feature. We wondered whether be quiet! might have made the odd tweak to the hardware but in fact we have no surprises to unveil. You get an ATX tower with seven expansion slots, four optical drive bays, seven storage drive bays, two front 140mm fans and a rear 120mm fan.

Be Quiet! Silent Base 800 Window Review

We review the Be Quiet! Silent Base 800 with side panel window The Silent Base 800 Window has not just been given a simple window upgrade. be quiet! has developed its own special solution: the window consists of double-glazed polycarbonate. A lovely chassis design, fairly tool free, good space to work in and it has very quiet airflow plus is prepped for liquid cooling. Have a peek at the product we'll review today, the Silent Base 800 Window.

Attn: This article is mostly an update to the original review - we merely swapped out the photos replacing it with the see-through side-panel photos and made a few extra comments /alterations here and there.

The Silent Base 800 Window has not just been given a simple window upgrade. Be quiet! has developed its own special solution: the window consists of double-glazed polycarbonate. This doesn't just allow the manufacturer to achieve optimum noise isolation, but the selected material also guarantees a high scratch and impact resistance. To prevent disruptive vibrations from being transmitted to the window, the window is decoupled by means of a rubber insert, which is available in three colours and thus, perfectly matching the case's design.

be quiet! Silent Base 800 Window Review

There has been a trend in recent years for companies to expand into other markets and broaden their portfolio of products. be quiet! are one such brand which are on a venture to diversify their collection of products by stepping into the computer chassis market. Making an impression in this already thriving market is key to having even the faintest glimmer of success and with the addition to Silent Base 800 at the end of 2014, be quiet! certainly raised the stakes.

Today, be quiet! unveil a new, albeit similar chassis to their initial release. Silent Base 800 Window, as its name suggests, adds a windowed version to an already popular mid-tower chassis. However, the window on this case isn’t just an ordinary sheet of Perspex, instead we have a double-glazed design which promises to reduce the problem which many side-windows encounter – noise.

There are so many companies that make mechanical keyboards these days that I would completely forgive you for not knowing who Epicgear is. Intel Broadwell-E Core i7 5775C processor Review

Today we review the all new Intel Core i7 5775C processor, a CPU fabbed at a 14nm manufacturing node making these processors are a notch more energy friendly. Join us as we look at the performance of this processor in a wide variety of benchmark, will it be noticeably more tweakable than say the Core i7 4770 or 4790 ? Well you can leave it up to us to find answers, let's find out shall we ?

Broadwell Core i5-5675C and Core i7-5775C processors for the Desktop platform have been released. Just to make a quick note already there are BGA packages available as well, not desktop products. Versions with the 'C" extension are the desktop LGA 1150 models, the 'R" models get a BGA socket. The C models will come with an unlocked multiplier (in the past that was K or X model). Initially five models will be launched but three of them are BGA and thus soldered onto the PCB socket, two of them are Socket 1150 ready. We test the flagship product, the Core i7 5775C. Broadwell based processors have four cores and will get a 65W TDP, which is lower compared to Haswell with its 84W/95W TDP, obviously thanks to the small 14nm fabrication process.
