ASRock X99 WS-E/10G Motherboard Review

Motherboards aimed at professional usage have quite different requirements to those aimed at consumer activities like gaming. For a start, whilst gamers are swiftly moving onto the Z170 chipset and Intel Skylake procesors, because quad-core is usually enough, workstations have generally stuck with X99 and Haswell E processors, due to the latter offering support for Core i7 CPUs up to eight-core, and Xeons up to 18-core. But there are other features that the professional might need that they consider worth paying extra for, and the ASRock X99 WS-E/10G showcases one of them – 10Gbit Ethernet networking.

Cryorig R1 Ultimate CPU Cooler Review

Founded in 2013, CRYORIG is a relatively new name in the world of high performance computer cooling, but the team has a lot of experience in the field, with many of them having worked previously at companies such as Thermalright, Phanteks, Prolimatech and more. CRYORIG claims to be made up of PC enthusiasts and the reason for their existence is that the companies founders were unsatisfied with the offerings currently on the performance PC cooling market and thought they could offer better products in scope with both their needs and the needs of enthusiasts around the world.

Heatsink and AIO manufacturers seem to have saturated the market fairly well, with a large amount of companies offering solutions ranging from basic to extreme. CRYORIG themselves recently announced their A40 Ultimate AIO coolers, which offer a unique fan-on-pump design that should improve system thermals compared to other AIO models. While we anticipate the A40 Ultimate will be a great unit and look forward to reviewing it in 2016, there are still an appreciable amount of users who want to stick with air cooling and today we are going to look at the biggest, baddest, traditional heatsink that CRYORIG offers, the R1 Ulimate.

Intel Compute Stick (2016) Cherry Trail Review: Pocket-Sized Windows 10 PC

We dug the original Intel Compute Stick, but it wasn’t without its issues. Last year’s model featured dated 802.11n wireless connectivity built in and had only a single USB port, which meant using a hub and / or dongles, should you want to connect multiple peripherals to the device or boost its wireless capabilities. Intel seems to have listened to the initial feedback on the first-gen Compute Stick, however, and recently launched a new model that addresses the shortcomings many took issue with in the original, and incorporated some newer technologies too.

Here we present to you the latest Intel Compute Stick for consumer applications, model STK1AW32SC. This new Compute Stick for 2016 features Intel’s newer Cherry Trail Atom platform, with 802.11ac WiFi, and USB 3.0. There’s still 2GB of RAM in the device, along with 32GB of storage, but Windows 10 Home now comes pre-installed...

If I asked you what the fastest way to transfer 8TB of data from New York to Los Angeles is, what would your answer be? Valve's Steam Controller reviewed
