ASRock X399M Taichi - AMD Threadripper Motherboard Review

There are many good motherboard brands on the market but ASRock is always surprising with something special. We were reviewing the X299E-ITX/ac so the only motherboard designed for the Skylake-X processors in mini ITX format and now it’s time on the only micro ATX motherboard for the AMD Threadripper – X399M Taichi.

The motherboard arrived in a retail package which protects its contents well and is not so large at the same time. Exterior has nearly full description of the motherboard and its key features. The retail package includes everything required for installation like SATA cables, M.2 screws, I/O shield, HB SLI bridges, DVD with software, WiFi antennas and user’s manual.

Best Linux applications (2018)

This ought to be interesting. I've made this comprehensive, up-to-date, Year 2018 list of highly recommended, must-have, free Linux programs, tools and utilities, across a wide range of categories, with multiple screenshots, examples, tutorials, and guides. Have fun.

My criteria for the inclusion and nomination are relatively simple: Applications need to be robust and stable, they need to accessible, the installation process should be relatively straightforward, and ideally, these will be cross-platform tools that run on other operating systems, too. There's a certain degree of personal taste, too, but I believe my choices are pragmatic, useful and fun. With the necessary expectation for a certain amount of hype, let us proceed. And do note, in some cases, you will see older and/or official screenshots, but that's mostly for aesthetic purposes.

Buffalo BS-MP2008 8-Port Multi-GbE Switch Review

We have gaming and workstation motherboards with 10GbE, we have NAS devices with 10GbE, but the switches have been missing up until now. Well, that’s not entirely true. They were there, but they were too expensive for most people to consider. Lately, we’ve seen some SOHO devices with two multi-gigabit ports, but the rest of the ports were standard gigabit. Buffalo’s BS-MP20 series, which includes the BS-MP2008, changes that. With 8 or 12 full-duplex 10GbE capable ports, it is still relatively cheap. It is especially cheap when we consider how much we spend on the rest of our setups.

The BS-MP2008 supports 10GbE as the fastest speed, but it isn’t limited to that. Slower 5GbE, 2.5GbE, and 1GbE are also supported. Even 100mbit support is included, should you still have devices utilising that standard. All ports are full-duplex, and the switch has enough bandwidth to utilise it. All the ports use Auto-MDIX for automatic speed detection.

Glorious PC Gaming Race Modular Mechanical Keyboard Review

Glorious PC Gaming Race is a very glorious brand name for the current times where memes are made to make fun of dirty peasants and people showing off their first PC builds as a ‘ascend’ ritual in Reddit. It gels with the PC gaming sub-culture very nicely and the timing couldn’t be any better. It is hard to find a good name for a peripheral company, though the choice of words would its end products have a BIG title. The first product I’ve noticed from the brand is the white coloured with anti-fray stitch deskpads when most were not having stitched deskpads.

ID-Cooling Auraflow 240 Liquid Cooler Review

ID-Cooling is a brand that has a remarkably larger range than you would probably realise. We have seen from them a wide variety of cooling options available both in air and AIO varieties. Having recently reviewed their Snow Edition air cooler, we were keen to check out their performance when it comes to AIO systems. We don’t, after all, regularly review two completely different styles of cooler from the same manufacturer in such close proximity.

Intel makes Z390 chipset official

Intel has disclosed the information about the upcoming Z390 chipset. Intel Z390 gets Wireless-AC and USB 3.1 Gen2 After looking at the diagrams we can only see one main difference between Z390 and Z370 chipsets, the onboard Wireless-AC 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5. There are no changes to the number of PCIe lanes or memory support. There is, however, a change to USB 3.1 support. The Z390 supports Gen2 while Z370 only Gen1. Throughout the marketing materials, Intel seems to underline the fact that Z390 is designed for unlocked processors (for overclocking).

SteelSeries RIVAL 600 Dual Optical Sensor Gaming Mouse Review

Thanks to its dual-sensor design, innovative weight balance system, excellent grip and 8-zone RGB lighting the RIVAL 600 by SteelSeries is probably their best gaming mouse to date.

Just like with every gaming peripheral in the market today prior to getting a brand new gaming mouse you need to know exactly what PC titles you will use it with (at least primarily). We have mentioned this numerous time in the past so if you're into fast passed games like FPS (first person shooters) a medium-sized mouse with a total of 7-8 buttons tops should do the trick but if you're into MMO games then you may be better off with a model that has many extra buttons. Still buttons is not the only thing that defines a gaming mouse and so the sensor (laser/optical) is really what it all comes down to. In a market however filled with many different sensor models which gaming mouse should you choose? SteelSeries is confident that the answer is their brand new dual-sensor RIVAL 600 which has been on our test bench for roughly a month now.

Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia Review

Back when I first wrote about Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia I made it clear that my goal was to rule my homeland. By this I mean Yorkshire, or at least the southern part. This means the conquering of the slums beautiful cities of Loidis (Leeds) and Doneceaster. Needless to say, I gave up on this goal before I even started. Instead, I looked to rule from a position of power on the Isle of Man as the Dyflin.
