Asus Republic Of Gamers RAMPAGE V Edition 10 Review

This X99 motherboard can house the Intel Core i7-5960X and other Haswell-E chips as well as the new Broadwell-E processors. Both are based on socket LGA2011-V3 infrastructure with DDR4 quad channel memory. DDR4 memory allows for lower voltage memory modules, this memory defaults towards 2,133 MHz at 1.2 Volts. However the memory controller is quad-channel compatible. As a result with overclocked memory at roughly 3 GHz, you can reach 70 maybe 80 GB/sec on your memory bandwidth, which are insane numbers. In this article we'll have a chat about a X99 motherboard in terms of the chipset and then will throw a decent photo-shoot and a benchmark suite at the products and get an indication what performance is like with the new 10-core Intel Core i7-6950 and X99 Platform.

With the ROG Rampage V Extreme ASUS once again tried to raise the bar with features and overclocking potential. ASUS went a little mental on the 10th Anniversary Edition SKU :P You will receive the cool ROG design motherboard with 3x3 802.11 a/b/g/n/AC Wireless LAN, M.2. PCIe SSD compatibility and SATA Express. There is an extra shield that covers the rear-panel I/O on-board, and audio is shielded as well. The board comes with two gigabit Ethernet controllers and exceptional WIFI. Storage wise you will get ten SATA 6 Gb/s and of course an M.2 slot (PCIe x4 linked for maximum bandwidth). There are many overclocking features inside the BIOS and to top things off, a diagnostic POST LED display. It doesn't stop there though, you get USB 3.1 (Gen2) connectors as well including Type-A and Type-C and a new gaming oriented LED feature. The motherboard is loaded with RGB LEDs that you can control in color and animation. Also included is a U.2 (no not the band) connector for the 0.00001% that uses it. Do you need fast connections? Well, the board offers four 10 Gbps USB 3.1 ports (2 Type-A and 2 Type-C), as stated Dual Gigabit Ethernet and dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi with a 3×3 antenna and also Bluetooth, CMOS / BIOS set buttons. Then there's another 4 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, a PS/2 port and a 7.1 channel audio jack which is powered by ASUS SupremeFX III chipset.

Deepcool Captain 240 EX AIO Liquid CPU Cooler Review

Launching in April and under its sub-brand ‘Gamer Storm,’ Deepcool launched a newly upgraded cooler series called the Captain EX. Under this all-in-one (AIO) series, you will find 120mm, 240mm, and 360mm variants, which feature several features, such as their patented SS Design (Separated Section), a steam punk appearance, visible liquid flow, and LED lighting. New features with these coolers include things like upgraded high-density water micro-channel, anti-explosion rubber, unique silent TF 120 double-blade fan, as well as tooling free installation solution. These features do sound promising, so hopefully they allow the cooler to perform well. The Captain EX series visually looks similar to the former Captain series, but Deepcool upgraded a few features. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Review

I can very easily and comfortably recommend Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to those who understand what they are in for. It is a game that lets you play it according to your style, as you are in control of your character’s progression, how you encounter your enemies, and it allows you to influence other characters in conversation. You are not the puppet master in this world but just one pulling at the strings, trying to disentangle them. The graphics are good, but I will cover more of that at a later date. I enjoyed the story as the story missions advance it and side missions fill the world around you, much of it building interest and intrigue. The gameplay is very good and fun, with my only noteworthy critique concerning the inventory management. Considering how much else is going on with the gameplay, that is pretty impressive. You can play your way in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, which I find fun and enjoyable, and that is why I recommend it if that is the kind of game you are looking for. If instead you are looking for a straight-forward, linear experience, this is not the game for you.

Inno3D iChill GeForce GTX 1070 X3 Graphics Card Review

Today, a new reader review has been published on OCinside. This time DarkFacility takes a closer look at the Inno3D iChill GeForce GTX 1070 X3 8GB graphics card. By rolling out the brand new generation, called pascal, nVidia decided to bring up two versions of the graphics card. There is the version called founders edition, which is the legacy reference design and the custom card. Those custom cards are special versions of the founders edition where manufacturers change specific parts, like the cooler or the power supply. With these customs designs manufacturers are trying to get more performance out of the GP104 chip. MSI GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming X 3GB Review

Is it worth a 10 per cent premium over cheaper cards? You just knew that everyone who produced the GeForce GTX 1060 6GB card would repurpose their coolers for the 3GB iteration that has come out recently. MSI goes down this path with the Gaming X GTX 1060 3GB priced at £225.

That sum is in keeping with the premium nature of the Gaming X line, representing the best that MSI has to offer. It's not what we'd call exclusive as the cooling is present on at least 18 other graphics cards. But why change a winning formula? Previous reviews have shown the Gaming X to be cool, quiet, refined and, well, just all-round good.

Gaming and Gaming X both share the same cooler, whose fans switch off at temperature below 60°C, but are differentiated by speeds. The review sample, designated X, runs at 1,569MHz core and 1,785MHz boost in standard, out-of-the-box 'gaming' mode, though you can increase the speeds a touch by hitting OC mode in the bundled MSI utility. Our sample was clocked in at the correct gaming speeds.

Olloclip Active Lens iPhone 6 / 6s & 6 / 6s plus

I typically rely on my manual 35mm SLR to take higher quality pictures. I have in the past only used my camera phone for casual picture taking. I recently switched to an Apple iPhone 6s plus and acquired an Olloclip Active lens at the same time to see if I could get photos with the two that would replace my SLR in most situations. It is more expensive than the Olloclip 4-in-1 lens but should allow iPhone photography to capture wider scenes, more detail from close up objects and focus on further objects than without it.

Razer Turret

Razer's Turret works very well and I have to admit at first I wasn't overly impressed with the concept, having first tested the Lapdog, but I now understand what they were going for here. As I said earlier, the Turret isn't a serious gaming solution, at least not in my opinion. It is designed for a bit of causal gaming fun and honestly, this is mostly what big screen gaming is all about.
