AMD Confirms RX 5700 XT Will be a Long-Term Branding

The release of the AMD Radeon RX 5700 (XT) graphics cards has so far proven to be highly popular with both fans and critics as many look to make them part of their system. Largely thanks to the comparatively affordable prices they have released at. Admittedly, Nvidia may still have the edge in top-end performance, but AMD arguably has the best in the ‘bang for buck’ stakes.

The release of the graphics card was, however, yet another strange choice of inconsistent branding by AMD. In a report via PCGamesN, however, Team Red has confirmed that the branding used for this card will form the platform for the next 5-10 years of releases.

AMD Offers Users Boot Kits For Updating Their B450/X470 EFI For Ryzen 3000

When AMD launched its Ryzen 2000-series processors last spring, the company knew that some folks would end up having trouble installing its latest and greatest chips in previous generation motherboards. To help, the company would send you a temporary CPU to get the EFI update job done, and then you’d be able to install your latest CPU.

We haven’t thought much about this program since then, but a redditor with a keen eye noticed that the program has been pulled ahead to this launch, and overall, the rules seem to work the exact same.

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X and Ryzen 5 3600X CPU Review

Facebook Gets Fined $5bn USD For Cambridge Analytica Scandal

US regulators have approved a record $5bn (£4bn) fine on Facebook to settle an investigation into data privacy violations, reports in US media say.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has been investigating allegations that political consultancy Cambridge Analytica improperly obtained the data of up to 87 million Facebook users.

Microsoft Is Shutting Down Their Windows Internet Games

With the release of Windows 10, Microsoft took a shift away from providing free ‘casual’ games with the platform. While you can still play solitaire and the like, there was, however, a clear emphasis that some of the more popular releases that you could play with other Windows users were on the way out.

TurboGrafx-16 Mini Available Next March With 50 Games

Konami’s attempt to ride the retro console bandwagon, the TurboGrafx-16 mini, now has a release date and a rather hefty game list. The company has revealed that the mini will be available exclusively through Amazon on March 19th, 2020, with pre-orders starting July 15th. While the designs will vary depending on which region you hail from, you’ll have access to just shy of 50 games (there are a few duplicates, despite Konami’s claims) split between the US’ TurboGrafx lineup and Japan’s PC Engine catalog.

The US lineup includes already-teased games like R-Type and Ys Book I & II, not to mention other top titles like Bonk’s Revenge and Space Harrier. On the PC Engine side, you’ll have big titles like Castlevania: Rondo of Blood(Akumajo Dracula X Chi No Rondo), Ghouls ‘n Ghosts (Daimakaimura) and Ninja Gaiden (Ninja Rykenden), among others. Kotaku noted that you’ll even get a previously very rare game, the shoot-em-up Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire.
