Obsidian Tower has posted a review on the Microsoft Cordless Optical

To quote Microsoft's site Capturing 6,000 frames per second, it delivers up to four times the performance of other optical mice. This superior tracking speed translates into smooth, accurate cursor performance. You won't need a mouse pad because you can use it on most surfaces.

I found that this was NOT the case. It was not near as smooth as the corded version and on a standard mouse pad it was very laggy. However, on a RatPadz mouse pad I noticed an increase in precision and smoothness. You can pick one up at http://www.ratpadz.com

For Wireless freedom I am going to have to give it a 3 out of 5 points. Too much skipping and lag under demanding applications like games. Not as smooth and sure as the corded version of this mouse.
