Blackview Zeta Smartphone Review

Blackview has taken a step ahead regarding their low-end smartphone line by releasing the Zeta which is available in multiple colors so the younger people with budget restrictions would be more attracted to it. We see it as a worthy successor of the Breeze, by sporting a friendlier look and the processor has been upgraded now to the octa-core MT6592 but at 1.4GHz in order to save battery life. Also, Zeta is equipped with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory which features a single partition. The cameras though are not stellar and while the manufacturer displays on the packaging the interpolated values, we are really dealing with a 2MP sensor for selfies and one 5MP sensor for the back shooter.

Case Mod Friday: White Metropolis

Welcome to another Case Mod Friday showcase! This week we have GHCustomPC's “White Metropolis” build. Here is what he had to say about it, "I wanted a build that was if a small form factor, allowing easier transportation when gaming with friends without sacrificing cooling power when at home and overclocking. I also wanted to create as clean of a build visually as I could which is where the idea for this came from. I developed a quick disconnect system from S5 to pedestal allowing me to separate the two. The name "White Metropolis" started out because I was trying to brainstorm a name that wasn't too cliche with a white build and went with that with no intention of including the name into the theme."

Eyefi Mobi 8GB

Considering how often I spend taking photos in the office as well as all of our photos when at events. I can say without a doubt that having to pull the SD card out of the camera, walk across the room and plug it into the PC, then sit down and pull everything off of the card takes up far more time than it should be. Eyefi has been on the market for a long time with their WiFi enabled cards but for various reasons I have always put off getting on. Recently I decided that we should check them out and finally see if they are worth all of the hype. So today we are going to take a look at their standard Eyefi Mobi in an 8GB capacity while using it for photos around the house and the office.

Microsoft Surface 3 Review: Capability And Compromises

Microsoft's third iteration of the Surface Pro was a monumental improvement over the first two incarnations. For many, the third time really was the charm. It was powerful enough to replace most laptops, and versatile enough to serve as two device types without major compromises on either side. A year later, and Microsoft presents us with the third iteration of the standard Surface. You know, the one without the "Pro" dangling from the end. It's cheaper, slimmer, and toned down, but it's also aimed at a broader swath of consumers.

The base Surface 3 checks in at an alluring $499, but that's probably not the machine you'll want. The upgraded spec, which gets 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, goes for $599...

MSI R7 370 GAMING 2G Review

Over the last few months, there has been a proliferation of rumors about the new AMD cards, resulting in wild speculations and a great deal of confusion. Then, over the last few weeks we got the usual wave of leaks including product diagrams, specifications, pictures, and performance benchmarks. The one thing that everyone seemed to agree upon was the fact that the R7 and R9 300 series cards from AMD will probably consist of a rebrand - or refresh, depending on where you stand - of previously released products, with some tweaks and added features to justify the new naming scheme.

On Tuesday June 16th, AMD finally introduced its Radeon 300 series video cards and brought the online rumor mill to rest. The highlights of the live stream were the Fiji-based Fury cards, which bring to the table an all-new architecture and HBM (High Bandwidth Memory). There wasn't much talk however about the specifications of the R7 and R9 300 series, which seemed a bit odd since the real fight for marketshares happens in the mid-range and entry-level segments, where most sales tend to happen.

Today I will be looking at the MSI R7 370 Gaming 2G, which comes with 2GB of RAM, or half the memory available for the other existing R7 370 variant. The R7 370, together with the R7 360, is positioned as an entry level card in the new AMD product stack and designed for 1080p gaming, particularly for titles like not-so-graphically-demanding online games. MSI fit the card with its new Twin Frozr V cooling solution and Military Class 4 components, which is very nice thing to see at the $159.99 MSRP price point. The MSI R7 370 Gaming 2G comes with 1024 Stream processors across 16 compute units, 32 ROPs and 64 TMUs. In terms of memory, we got 2GB GDDR5 running at 1425MHz on a 256-bit interface for a total 182.4 GB/s bandwidth. Seems pretty familiar isn't it? We are basically looking at the successor of the Radeon 7850 and R7 265, with a bump in the core clocks and memory. Will the clock boost and custom design give this Trinidad based card any extra edge in terms of gaming performance?

SilverStone Tundra TD03-E Closed Loop Water Cooler

Taking a short trip down memory lane, I could still remember the days when I was still in elementary, and would be ecstatic when the teacher announced there will be group projects in the class. This was a time of exploring the computers at school, and doing online activities to find out more information about the material we were learning about. The first project I was assigned in my Grade 4 geography class was a project about the different types of vegetation regions of Canada. This is where I learned about the various aspects of the Boreal Forest, Cordillera, Eastern Temperate Forests, Arctic Tundra, and many other vegetation regions. Sitting through my classmate's presentations, I can still remember the presentation slides on the Arctic Tundra and thinking, "Why in the world would anyone want to live in such a cold place?" Clearly, I was not the only one asking this question when my classmate mentioned there was little human activity in the Tundra region. Although my dislike to the cold is still with me to this day (And you kind of wonder why I live in Canada), the word "tundra" does not hit me with a chill anymore. This is especially true with the coolers and fans I have reviewed in the past, with a want to achieve a cooler system. Hence, when I received the SilverStone Tundra TD03-E water cooler, I was more than ready to brave the cold, and take it for a spin. Will it satisfy our want of a cooler system, or will it make us shiver with chills and ask a simple, "Why?" Read on to find out!
