be quiet! Dark Rock TF CPU Cooler Review

be quiet! - the market leader in PC power supplies in Germany for nine consecutive years - back in May announced the next addition to their Dark Rock family of high-end heat sink coolers with a new Top Flow model, the Dark Rock TF. The heat sink cooler design incorporates two 135mm Silent Wings fans to help meet the cooling demands of systems set up in compact form factor cases.

The two nickel plated aluminum fin sets of the Dark Rock TF are interconnected with six heat pipes (each 6 mm in diameter) for high performance cooling. With the two Silent Wings mounted and decoupled via rubberized inserts, the cooler will provide up to 220 watts TDP at a maximum of 26.7 decibels of blade noise. Through the addition of fluid dynamic bearings and a 6-pole motor, these two fans are designed for long lasting and quiet operation.

With the design of the Dark Rock TF, you have the option to use only one fan for cases that do not have the height clearance for a 130.8 mm heat sink cooler. be quiet! uses nickel plating, and an aluminum top cover and heat pipe caps to give the Dark Rock TF visual appeal for an attractive appearance in most any system, especially cases with large window panels.

KLEVV CRAS 3000MHz 16GB DDR4 Memory Kit Review

Memory, the most vital part of any computer that gets overlooked the most. There’s not a lot to say about RAM apart from its expensive and very confusing. DDR4, the newest iteration of RAM is currently the fastest version of the consumer RAM, with speeds exceeding 3333MHz. RAM kits now come in a variety of shapes with the basic bare modules, right up to the simply stunning Ripjaws series.

Today we will be looking at the newly introduced KLEVV CRAS memory kit. This has already been released in other parts of the world and consumers are adoring the high-end finish and amazing performance on offer.

KLEVV was established in just 2014 by the parent company Essencore Limited (or just Essencore), but having close ties within the memory community has allowed the company to quickly gain traction and is quickly rising to contend for the top spot. The CRAS memory modules are an extremely high-end, they are fitted with huge solid metal heat sinks that not only keep these extremely cool, but also provide excellent aesthetics and strengthening properties. This particular memory kit comes out of the box with a speed rating of 2133MHz, however, a simple BIOS tweak to enable the XMP profile brings the modules up to the rated 3000 MHz advertised speed; which is something that you have to remember when buying high speed memory kits.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 with Intel Skylake CPU to arrive in October

According to Taiwanese supply chain sources. There's certainly going to be a cornucopia of new PCs hitting the market shortly after the next version of Windows is released. So many of the big corporations that make it their business to supply devices and services in the PC market are banking on an upsurge in sales to perk up their financials for the next few months. Earlier in the day we covered the news that Acer is preparing so-called Cloudbook laptops to push Windows 10 penetration at the cheap end of the market, and it won't be alone. But what if you are after something a bit more premium? Well, reports from Taiwan say that Microsoft is preparing to release its Surface Pro 4 hybrid in October.

MSI GT72 2QE Dominator Pro G (1461UK) G-Sync Gaming Laptop Review

Retrofitted with a new CPU based on Intel’s latest-and-greatest Broadwell micro-architecture, MSI’s GT72 2QE Dominator Pro G also ships with an additional gaming-centric gem – the use of a 1920×1080 G-Sync panel that runs at 75Hz.

NZXT Noctis 450 Mid Tower Case Review

The NZXT NOCTIS 450 is a mixture of engineering and modern art; sharing an internal frame that we have come a custom to find with the more familiar S340 and H440 in addition adding to that mix a completely different outer shell design theme. The NOCTIS 450 is like imagining a Phantom and a H440 metamorphosing together into a completely different mixture of look and style, but still keeping that similar inner engineering that we have come to enjoy with NZXT sharing of innovations of Custom Computer Case Modders around the Globe. The fit is solid and the case has a great price point at $139.99. I would highly recommend this case to a new builder or someone looking to replace an older case if they are really into its Art Deco Modern Artistic styling offered by this new NOCTIS 450 NZXT CASE design because for the price there are very few cases out there at this price point that have what this case has.

OCZ Trion 100 480GB review

Does a TLC-based drive make sense? OCZ Storage Solutions broadened its consumer solid-state drive line-up with the entry-level Trion 100 drive released last week. Available in common capacities of 120GB to 960GB and presented in a standard 2.5in form factor, the Trion, badged as an OCZ drive, is ostensibly produced by parent company Toshiba.

Building a cheap-as-chips solid-state drive requires concessions on the performance front. OCZ/Toshiba achieves this aim by using a wholly in-house controller and cost-effective triple-level cell (TLC) memory. We can see how this potentially plays out by taking a closer look at the specifications.

Thecus W4000+ NAS Review

Today we review the Thecus W4000+,- a NAS unit that doesn't run Linux for a change. No Sir, its operating system is Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Essentials (WSS). Armed with WSS you receive a NAS unit that really is a complete server with expensive software. You navigate in a Windows environment and while using all the luxurious options and features that come along with it.

The Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 Essentials enabled NAS unit we received is in fact the W4000+ model, the initial models all came with 2 GB of RAM memory, combined with a Windows OS that is a little on the shy side. The 4000+ (the + is the difference) is a model that is factory equipped with 4 GB or SODIMM RAM memory, giving this product the breathing space it needs.

A NAS unit armed with a smooth software DNA and priced competitive against the big guns in the industry like Qnap, Synology, Netgear and Asustor. We went blank into this review as we never had tested this brand before, but with very nice hardware and armed with WSS the W4000+ is not only a fast file server, it's also very configurable with applications for streaming and downloading as well, this is a full blown server you can place inside your office or use it to feed all your PCs and streaming devices. Being WSS based, this NAS unit does cater more towards a SOHO (small office home office) environment, and likely appeals a little less to the more regular end-user. However WSS offers just so much, from stability, to security and is easily patched by windows update. It is a 64-bit operating system that runs and looks like Windows 8. This means you can also install all kinds of application like a FTP FileZilla server or you favorite torrent and usenet applications.

TteSports Isurus Pro In-Ear Gaming Headset Review

There’s no shortage of gaming headsets on the market for you to choose from. There are seemingly endless variations of performance, shape, size and price catered for, but for the most part, they’re often quite similar. The latest headset from TteSports, the gaming division of Thermaltake looks set to do things a little bit differently and while I admit, there may be other headsets in the world like this, I’ve certainly never seen a gaming headset quite like this.

“ISURUS PRO – The new generation of the ISURUS gaming headset, the ISURUS PRO is professionally engineered for Professional gamers and featuring a world’s first detachable microphone. The ISURUS PRO offers clear communication between gamers during intense gameplay by adjusting the microphone to ensure you have a perfect fit. The ISURUS PRO also delivers an astonishing audio and gaming experience with its comfortable ear-fit, allowing players to feel great for long periods of practicing or playing games! The ISURUS PRO also features a compact and powerful 13.5MM dynamic driver!”

The Isurus Pro is a high-end in-ear gaming headset, but unlike the small ear bud designs, it features huge 13.5mm drivers that sit just outside of the ear bud, so I’m sure we can expect some punchy audio performance today. To top it off, it also features a small boom microphone, a welcome change as most, if not all, in-ear headphones feature an on-cable pin hole microphone.

ZOTAC ZBOX Nano CI540 Plus Review

As a hardware- reviewer it is sometimes easy to forget that not everyone needs a super fast big computer and instead are looking for something in the other end, a small, silent computer that works for more modest applications. Zotac is a company that excels in that sort of small mini-PC’s and today we are testing their Zbox Nano CI540 Plus, a palm-sized computer that comes with a Core i5-processor, 4 GB ram and a SSD. Add to that a completely fan-less design and USB3.0-support as well as 802-11ac-WIFI and we have a very attractive computer in a small package.
