Microsoft's latest firmware update for its Surface Pro and Surface RT tablets have been released, which offer some WiFi improvements for the Pro version and speaker upgrades for the RT tablet.

In a post on the Surface Pro update page, Microsoft states that today's update will included some improvements for the tablet's "Wi-Fi connectivity and stability." No other details were revealed but Microsoft has been trying to improve the WiFi functions of both the Surface Pro and Surface RT tablets since they were first launched. The update also adds the PXE boot feature found in the UEFI firmware. This new addition is only activated when using the Ethernet Adapter for the Surface Pro "due to the UEFI integration needed to implement PXE boot."Microsoft's Surface Pro and RT firmware updated
The change history log on the Surface RT website reveals that today's release will have a UEFI firmware update that, along with some general system stability improvements, will also enhance the speaker volume on the Surface RT. There's also a new driver pack that will work with the UEFI firmware update to improve the speaker volume, along with some unnamed performance improvements.
