Ever since the launch of the original Athlon back in the summer of 2000, AMD CPU's have enjoyed a reputation for being particularly good overclockers. Initially, the Duron was the overclocking CPU of choice, but even their popularity was eclipsed by the arrival of the AXIA / AYHJA core Athlon Thunderbirds. CPU's marked with either of these codes were renowned for reaching speeds high above their original. This time period coincided with the heyday of the KT133A chipset, and many motherboards based on it (particularly later boards such as IWILL's KK266) were known to hit FSB speeds of 166 MHz and up.Read more
