A look at Firefox's upcoming Picture-in-Picture mode

Mozilla revealed that it was working on a Picture-in-Picture mode for the Firefox web browser back in February. Designed to play videos in a small overlay on the screen, Picture-in-Picture mode allows users of the browser to navigate between tabs and sites without interfering with the playing video using the detached video player.

The original plan was to introduce the mode in Firefox 68 but development has been delayed. Current plans aim for a release in the next stable Windows version of the Firefox web browser, Firefox 71. Firefox 71 will be released on December 3, 2019 if the schedule does not change. Linux and Mac versions of Firefox may see a release in Firefox 72 which will be released on January 7, 2020.

Apple macOS 10.15 vs. Windows 10 vs. Ubuntu 19.10 Performance Benchmarks

In addition to this month bringing the release of the Ubuntu 19.10 "Eoan Ermine", Apple also shipped macOS 10.15 "Catalina" as the sixteenth major release of their macOS operating system. So with that it makes for an interesting time seeing how macOS 10.15 competes against both Ubuntu 19.10 and Windows 10 on an Apple MacBook Pro. Here are those results from dozens of benchmarks.

Corsair HS60 Pro Surround Headset Review

Intel Q3 2019 Fab Update: 10nm Product Era Has Begun, 7nm On Track

After years of delays, Intel is finally shipping its 10 nm processors in high volume, and the company is preparing to fire up another fab to produce an even larger volume of 10nm products. Along with producing more of the companys existing Ice Lake-U/Y products, Intel is also planning for server CPUs and GPUs as well, with Ice Lake-SP CPU as well as the DG1 GPU already up and running in Intel’s labs. Meanwhile, even farther out, Intel is eyeing 2021 for the rollout of its EUV-based 7nm process.

During its earnings call on Thursday, Intel said that so far 18 premium systems based on its 10th Generation Core (Ice Lake) processors have been formally introduced and 12 more are expected in 2019. Right now, the company produces all of its 10 nm CPUs in Hillsboro, Oregon and Kiryat Gat, Israel. Starting next quarter, the company expects 10 nm chips to also ship from its Chandler, Arizona, fab, which will increase supply of Ice Lake processors and will get Intel prepared for a broader use of the manufacturing process that had caused company a lot of troubles.

LIFX Candle Bulb Review

LIFX earlier this year teased the Candle Color, a candelabra bulb that uses Polychrome Technology, which is a fancy way of saying it can display more than one color at once. Now the Candle Color is available for purchase.

LIFX has used Polychrome Technology in the Tile, Beam, and Z Strip light strip, but this is the first time the color blending feature has been available in a light bulb.

MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Graphics Card Review

NVIDIA SHIELD TV 2019 Review

Thermaltake TOUGHRAM RGB DDR4-3200 16GB Dual Channel Memory Kit Review

There is no doubt in our minds that when it comes to shopping for DDR4, Thermaltake might be the very last company you would look to for it. However, it seems that this year was the time for any manufacturer with the dream to sell RAM, took advantage of things, and are now throwing their hats in the ring. With companies like Antec and GIGABYTE stepping in the door nearer the beginning of the year, and now Thermaltake is selling it, it appears that the flood gates are open for anyone with the backing to buy a ton of ICs. From the trade show images, we were fully aware of the TOUGHRAM, and WaterRam plans to come to market, but it appears that Thermaltake did not want to stop there. While the product lines mentioned above are the top tier of their lineup, Thermaltake also offers The M-ONE RAM, which comes naked sporting black PCBs. Similar to those, but with a simple heat spreader used, they have the H-ONE series, both of which are not sold at speeds faster than 3000MHz. For those looking for a bit more speed from your DDR4, the first two series have offerings at 3000, 3200, and 3600MHz options.
