Xtreme Resources evaluates the latest mid-range graphics solution based on the ATI X700 series chipset, the MSI RX700PRO-TD128E.

While the release of new high end cards may have shaken the top-end market a little bit, the battle in the mainstream market still rages with the X700 series from ATi and the 6600 series from nVidia. There are many models featuring those cores, with considerable price differences between each other, yet all can be considered mainstream cards as they do not get overly expensive, neither are too weak for 3D performance. Today I have a MSI RX700PRO-TD128E PCI-E card which may seem a little too old since it is featuring ‘only’ 128MB of memory, yet we will see if the size of the memory makes a real difference in today’s applications.
