Kingston UV500 240GB M.2 SATA SSD Review

There is still a huge market for SATA-based drives, whether they’re in the classic 2.5-inch form factor or the newer M.2. Today I’m taking a closer look at Kingston’s latest SATA SSD, the UV500 (product link). I’m testing the M.2 version, but it is also available in 2.5-inch and a mSATA version. The UV500 is a budget-oriented mainstream drive.

Before we get to the model I’m testing today, let’s talk a bit about the series in general. With 2.5-inch, mSATA, and M.2 form factors, there aren’t many systems which won’t be able to run this drive. The mSATA and M.2 version are the first to hit the market with the 2.5-inch following shortly.

Netgear Nighthawk XR500 Gaming Router Review

Netgear has perhaps one of the most complete router lineups much of which, we have reviewed here at TweakTown. Within this lineup, the Nighthawk brand is likely the most recognizable by consumers as it encompasses both mid-range platforms and gamer or enthusiast platforms. That said, across this entire lineup we had got used to Netgear deploying its "genie" OS/firmware and while it carried all the features needed for the typical consumer, it didn't have that edge gamers look for.

With the Nighthawk XR500 Netgear has gone all in, partnering with NetDuma, the company behind the R1 back in 2014, to create a feature-rich gaming platform. This includes a geo-filter to guarantee you connect to a host close to home, Anti-Flood technology to eliminate congestion caused by excessive downloading and the ability to set per device bandwidth with QoS.

Ubuntu 18.04 - Samba shares problem fix

Microsoft Windows makes up the vast majority of desktop systems in the world. Easily 90%. This means that if you're testing Linux or considering dual-booting Windows and Linux, you will most likely have a Windows machine in your setup, and you will want to share files. Samba is the easiest way to do things. In your Linux box, in a file manager, in the address bar, type smb://, followed by a host name or IP address, and you should be able to connect to your Windows shares. Well, in Ubuntu 18.04, not so anymore.

I've encountered this problem while testing Bionic Beta and then again when I took Kubuntu 18.04 for a spin. In both cases, I was not able to reach my Windows shares. Now, this is a stupid problem, because I can connect to Windows shares from EVERY other Linux system I have. Let me show you how you can fix this.
