Corsair RM1000x and RM750x Review

Today we are going to look at the Aerocool Strike-X Air which is a very innovative chassis, designed to appeal to those enthusiasts who spend a lot of time inside their PC and change hardware frequently. It uses an open design, similar to a test bench, which features a large mesh cover to hide the components.

Gigabyte Brix N3000 Review

With the Brix, Gigabyte has a small form factor PC in its portfolio, based on Intel's latest Braswell platform. Apart from that the system features a very attractive price and even the performance could be on a very reasonable level for an office enviorment, since there is an Intel Celeron CPU inside.

Hands-on review: Chromecast 2

Google has a Chromecast 2 for 2015, and it's built to be more reliable and easier to use than its first media streaming dongle, yet it's just as inexpensive.

The new Chromecast is on sale right now through the Google Store for an easy $35 (£28), but the media streaming landscape has changed since the first edition launched two years ago.

Hands-on review: Nexus 5X

Google's Nexus 5X literally gave me a hand, in that it's a smaller one-hand-friendly Android phone, freeing up me from last year's two-handed clunker, the Nexus 6.Its size is smaller, but the Nexus 5X specs are beefed up, for the most part. It carries a faster processor, USB-C port and far superior camera that Nexus phones have sorely lacked. It delivers Android Marshmallow, the new update to Google's mobile operating system. It's the best way to get features like Google Now on Tap and the battery-saving Doze mode right away.

Hands-on review: Nexus 6P

The new Nexus handsets have arrived, and along with the Nexus 5X we've also been treated to the Nexus 6P – the second generation phablet from Google. While the Nexus 6 was built by Motorola, Google has switched manufacturers for the 6P with Huawei being drafted in for its first Nexus device. The Chinese manufacturer has been slowly growing its presence in Western markets and will hope its Nexus project can help boosts its brand outside of Asia.As for Google, it looks set to really drive forward it's now two-pronged attack on the mobile market. The Nexus 6 was a decent phone, but it had a few flaws. Is the Nexus 6P an improvement? I've grabbed it with both hands to try and find out.

Motorola Moto X Pure Edition Review: Straight-Up Premium Android

Apple and Samsung have already launched their latest flagship devices for 2015, and now, Motorola is taking its turn. For the third year in a row, a new Moto X has arrived that's built upon the successes of the original. There's no mistaking the design -- visual cues that created the silhouette of the original still remain on the Moto X Pure Edition, but it's clear that the company is evolving its flagship phone based on market demands. For instance, the 5.7-inch Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440) display would've been viewed as monstrous in 2013, but today, it feels wholly natural. Moto has also included a few useful extras like TurboPower (which injects 10 hours of life into the phone after just 15 minutes on the charger) and a water-repellant nano-coating to protect from spills...

MSI Z170A Gaming M7 Motherboard Review

A few weeks ago I took a look at the Intel Core i7-6700K Skylake, the new fully unlocked K-series flagship CPU geared towards gamers and mainstream enthusiasts. Just like any new architecture, Skylake CPUs require a new socket and chipset. For that review, I paired the Core i7-6700K with the MSI Z170A Gaming M7 which was one of first motherboards on the market equipped with the LGA 1151 socket and the new Z170 chipset. As the name suggests, the board is part of the MSI Gaming products lineup, which also includes notebooks, all-in-one PCs, and graphics cards.

I used quite a few MSI products over the years to build systems for myself, family and friends, and of course for the purpose of conducting reviews. In doing so I had the chance to experience the evolution of the MSI Gaming brand since its introduction. MSI is working hard to provide gamers with great performing, high-quality products that come in attractive packaging with a decent hardware and software bundle, all while keeping the cost competitive.

Today I will be taking a closer look at the MSI Z170A Gaming M7 motherboard itself. The M7 board looks terrific and comes packed with an impressive feature set including: DDR4 Boost, USB 3.1 Gen2, Twin Turbo M.2, Audio Boost 3, Game Boost, Military Class 5, Steel Armor PCI-E slots, Click BIOS 5, and much more. The board is built around the LGA Socket 1151 and Intel Z170 PCH. This combination brings some pretty cool features to the mainstream segment such as DDR4 RAM and USB 3.1 support. Next we go through the eye candy part of the review before firing up the board.

Rainbow Six Siege closed beta preview

Only a few months have passed since Ubisoft announced at E3 that Terrorist Hunts would be returning in Rainbow Six Siege. Messages immediately blew up between our small gaming group. The three of us have been gaming together for a long time; at least a decade, if not more. When Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 released in 2008, we networked together a couple of Xbox 360s and played Terrorist Hunts endlessly. Eventually we migrated to the the PC and spent countless hours progressing our characters, unlocking weapons, and hunting terrorists all over again. Ubisoft would stop officially supporting online matchmaking, but it’s still possible to play online (we had to try after hearing the announcement).

ROCCAT Nyth Gaming Mouse Review

ROCCAT Nyth is like a breath of fresh air in the already crowded gaming mice market which sports quite a modular design with replaceable right side panel, no less than four different sets of buttons, a smooth durable plastic texture, catchy LED light effects and a comfortable shape for lengthy gaming sessions. Considering that we are getting plenty of accessories, ROCCAT saw fit to also include a carry case and the software available for the Nyth is one of the most advanced we have seen to date, which maintains the feature we did like in the previous revisions, the audio feedback.

Samsung Portable SSD T1 – good things come in small packages

Even though many of us are using more and more cloud storage for things like images and music there still is a need for local storage on our desktops and laptops. On a desktop it usually is quite easy to just pop in another SSD or regular hard drive but this is not always the case for a laptop. Most laptops come with just one SSD or hard drive and upgrading to a large one can be a chore and also cost a lot. A better solution is to use an external drive to store non-OS-files but these drives more than often use a regular hard drive, either at 5400 rpm (slooow) or 7200 rpm (faster but still slow). Luckily we are starting to see more external drives that use faster SSD’s and the external drive we are reviewing today is one of these; the Samsung Portable SSD T1. This is a tiny external drive that uses an SSD to give us exceptional speeds over USB3.

Silverstone SG12 Micro-ATX Chassis Review

Silverstone is one of the most recognisable chassis brands on the market, which comes as no surprise given that they seem to launch more products per year than virtually any other manufacturer. The Sugo series of chassis has long been a success, something that’s no doubt obvious given that the model we have at our disposal today is the twelfth iteration, the Sugo SG12.

The SG12 keeps many of the design features and specifications of its more recent siblings, with a newly revised front panel that’s more practical than most, room for large graphics cards, an optical drive, an incredible amount of storage drives and a full ATX PSU; this may be a fairly small chassis, but it’ll give some mid-towers a run for their money in terms of specifications.

TSLaser TS 302 532nm 5mw Focusing Green Laser Review

It’s been a long time since I’ve reviewed any lasers, and I’ve missed it honestly, I love them. I have no real use for lasers, but it’s a guy thing, they’re just cool. Up for review today I have the TS 302 green laser which is 532nm and 5mw power, but it can be focused from a thin beam to more of a wide beam. This type of laser can be used for many things, but it doesn’t burn like you might expect. Read on to learn more…
