The buyout by nVIDIA of core 3dfx technology, patents and trademarks came as a bit of a shock to most people. Call it the gullibility of devotees, or simply wishful thinking, because the latest reports from the old King of Graphics weren´t suggesting anything else. Anyway, the strong response from you people that was generated in our news comments system made us think we should listen to opinions of people other than immediate 3dfx or nVIDIA officials.
