EVGA GTX 1660 Ti XC Black Review

The GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is the fifth GPU based on NVIDIA’s Turing architecture. There is no Founders Edition (FE) so it is represented by BTR’s review of the EVGA GTX 1660 Ti XC Black. It is the true successor to the GTX 1060 and it does not come with RT or Tensor cores which allows it to launch at $279, and its performance is supposed to approximate a $329 GTX 1070. It is $20 more expensive than the $259 Red Devil RX 590 which comes with a 3-game bundle from AMD, and so it is expected to outperform it.

The GTX 1660 Ti is NVIDIA’s new mainstream non-RTX Turing card and it will be available globally today starting at its $279 pricing and up for factory-overclocked cards. Like the GTX 1060 it replaces, the GTX 1660 Ti has 6GB of vRAM, but it is now equipped with GDDR6.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Review

NVIDIA is introducing the GTX 1660 Ti today, a card build from the ground up to take advantage of the new Turing architecture but without real-time ray tracing capabilities. It seems like the logical next step for NVIDIA as gamers eager for a current-generation replacement to the popular GTX 1060, and who may have been disappointed with the launch of the RTX 2060 because it was priced $100 above the 1060 6GB, now have something a lot closer to a true replacement in the GTX 1660 Ti.
There is more to the story of course, and we are still talking about a “Ti” part and not a vanilla GTX 1660, which presumably will be coming at some point down the road; but this new card should make an immediate impact. Is it fair to say that the GTX 1660 Ti the true successor to the GTX 1060 that we might have assumed the RTX 2060 to be? Perhaps. And is the $279 price tag a good value? We will endeavor to find out here.

Palit GeForce GTX 1660 Ti StormX Review

GTX strikes back. Nvidia is on a mission to improve PC graphics by encouraging the industry to adopt technologies such as ray tracing and machine-learning-based image enhancement. To this end, the GeForce RTX series of cards has dedicated hardware - RT and Tensor cores - to accelerate the computationally-heavy work involved in producing more realistic-looking images. Available in RTX 2080 Ti, 2080, 2070, and 2060 forms, each model combines these features with an all-new architecture known as Turing.

It's fair to say that GeForce RTX has got off to a stumbling start, one certainly not helped by a significant delay in games engines using Nvidia's technology. Yet there is cause for optimism in the green camp as a few parts of the jigsaw fall into place, including the clearing of older 10-series GPUs from the channel, games launching with RTX-specific technology in tow, and rival AMD limited in what it can put forward as a credible high-end rival.

Scythe Mugen 5 Review

Competition drives change, and the Mugen 5 (Rev. B) shows how improvements over time result in a great cooler. Each generation of the Mugen builds on the foundation of the previous generation. This version of the Mugen brings much to the table including coverage for the latest AMD and Intel sockets, a fast, easy installation (with the included screwdriver) and plenty of room for RAM with tall heat spreaders. The 120mm Kaze Flex fan is about as quiet as it gets and it moves plenty of air through the fins stack, effectively removing heat from the CPU.
