Asura Genesis Xtreme RGB M.2 NVMe SSD Review

It is not every day that you see a new company break into the PC market. For many years the PC world has been rather stagnant when it comes to innovation with certain companies bowing out while existing manufacturers will take the opportunity to skimp on features because nobody will call them on it. This is true in almost every component category including storage. One way we got around this in the old says was to RAID our HDDs and is why every current motherboard will come with some way to link storage devices together. Bottom line, faster storage equals more performance and smiles on everyone's face.

In this review we will be looking at a newcomer to the storage world with the first product they have ever released. This is the Asura Genesis Xtreme a M.2 NVMe SSD that comes shrouded in a decorative heatsink and RGB lights.

NVIDIA dropped a hint that something “Super” was coming just prior to Computex and since then a handful of leaks have let the cat mostly out of the bag. Today, however, we can dispel the rumors, officially reveal what NVIDIA’s got coming down the pipeline, and show you exactly what NVIDIA’s Super branding is all about.

HitFilm Express vs. DaVinci Resolve: The Free Video Editor Battle

Video editing tools can be expensive. After all, their main users are often studios which potentially make billions of dollars if a movie is successful. When your customers are making that much money with your software, why wouldn’t you charge accordingly? However, most home users aren’t making much money from the videos they create. And if you’re not raking in the same money as the pros, why would you spend the same money? Fortunately, free video editors like HitFilm Express and DaVinci Resolve mean we don’t have to.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super and RTX 2070 Super Review

Super timing from the green team. Nvidia released its latest Turing architecture in September of last year, and the first boards to roll off the line were GeForce RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti. Since then, the green team has released a succession of cheaper RTX cards and a slew of GTX models that do without the RTX and Tensor cores of the premium line.

It's no secret that Turing goodness arrived in retail form a few months later than Nvidia had originally planned. June 2018, coinciding with Computex, was supposed to be the due date, but a lack of pressure from rival AMD at the expensive end of the market made it easy for RTX to come in time for the holiday season.

The GeForce RTX 2070 Super & RTX 2060 Super Review

Ever since Computex, NVIDIA has been teasing a “Super” announcement of their own. And this morning, that announcement is finally coming to fruition. NVIDIA is launching a mid-generation kicker for their mid-to-high-end video card lineup in the form of their GeForce RTX 20 series Super cards. Based on the same family of Turing GPUs as the original GeForce RTX 20 series cards, these new Super cards – all suffixed Super, appropriately enough – come with new configurations and new clockspeeds. They are, essentially, NVIDIA’s 2019 card family for the $399+ video card market.

When they are released on July 9th, the GeForce RTX 20 series Super cards are going to be sharing store shelves with the rest of the GeForce RTX 20 series cards. Some cards like the RTX 2080 and RTX 2070 are set to go away, while other cards like the RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2060 will remain on the market as-is. In practice, it’s probably best to think of the new cards as NVIDIA executing as either a price cut or a spec bump – depending on if you see the glass as half-empty or half-full – all without meaningfully changing their price tiers.
