Aeotec DSB45 Z-Wave Water Sensor

The setup of the Aeotec DSB45 was extremely easy, and within just minutes I was able to use the Wink app to confirm just how fast the sensor would alert me to wet and dry conditions. I have placed the one DSB45 by my water heater and I am already feeling a bit of peace of mind from just the ability to receive alerts about the presence of water. I will soon add a Z-Wave controlled valve to have the water cut off if the DSB45 sensor ever detects water in that area.

AMD debunks Ryzen DDR4 RAM problems

In a tweet at its official AMD Ryzen account, AMD showed the Ryzen 7 1700 SKU running with 16GB of G.Skill DDR4 memory clocked at 1701.0MHz (3400MHz effective) with 18-17-17-37-1T latencies.

ASUS Maximus IX Hero Motherboard Review

Asus Radeon RX 480 Dual OC 4GB Review

The launch of a new graphics card is a fascinating prospect for PC gaming enthusiasts, but opting for all that is shiny and new can be a risky prospect due to immature drivers, hardware bugs and lofty launch-day pricing. Such provisos are part and parcel of the early-adopter gamble, and you could argue that it makes more sense to wait until the wrinkles have been ironed out and prices have fallen to agreeable levels.

That's where the bargains tend to be, and right now, the Radeon RX 480 is turning into a hot offer as manufacturers look to clear stock ahead of next-generation replacements. ASUS ROG Maximus IX Apex Overclocking Motherboard Review

During the CES launch of the Kaby Lake and Z270 Chipset there were a lot of motherboards to be seen. Most were focused on gaming with gaming LED effects and gaming graphics and gaming heatsinks however there was one motherboard that really caught my attention. Not because of the fancy heatsinks or stylish IO shield or even RGB LED lighting effects. No, this motherboard was interesting because it was dedicated to overclocking.

We aren’t talking the reddit “is this voltage safe, what kind of cooler should I use” style of overclocking but, real person overclocking with sub ambient cooling solutions, excessive voltage adjustments and world record breaking performance.

In this review I’ll be looking at the ASUS Maximus IX Apex. This is a motherboard I saw at CES and which has become a common topic on both the Hardware Asylum Podcast and the post CES chat I did with Techgage. Simply put this motherboard is marketed as an overclocking monster and so far is has delivered on every one of them.

ASUS ROG Strix Z270I Gaming Review

With the ROG Strix Z270I Gaming, ASUS has a well equipped mini-ITX motherboard in its portfolio, which comes with a bunch of interesting features. There are for example two M.2 Gen 3 x4 slots and an internal USB 3.1 connector. Apart from that ASUS refined the design of their STRIX Gaming series motherbards, removing all the orange accents that we've seen on X99 STRIX Gaming products.

Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro S White Review

There are some other keyboards that have adopted the snow-white LEDs previously but the MasterKeys Pro S White, like its siblings, features the extra-large, ultra-bright LEDs that will set it apart. NVIDIA lifted the veil on its latest monster graphics card for gamers -- the long-rumored GeForce GTX 1080 Ti -- at an event this evening in San Francisco during the Game Developers Conference (GDC). The card will sit between the mighty Titan X and GeForce GTX 1080 in NVIDIA's Pascal-powered GeForce product stack, promising significant performance gains over the GTX 1080 and Titan X-class performance, likely for a lot less money, though pricing won't be disclosed until later this evening at an official unveiling hosted by NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang. Overclockers UK Infin8 Empress Mk3 System Review

The Overclockers UK Infin8 Empress Mk3 is a high end gaming PC that comes from their Infin8 range that is ‘inspired by 8Pack’. You can see their point as the Lian Li PC-O8 case looks superb and the PC is powered by an overclocked Kaby Lake Core i7 along with a pair of GTX 1080 graphics cards. Naturally the hardware is water cooled with a full custom loop and it is topped off with a nifty lighting system,

The price is considerably lower than an 8Pack system, as befits the fact that this is an Extreme PC, rather than an Ultimate PC, which means you’ll save £1,000 if you choose the Empress Mk3 instead of the 8Pack Comet which has a very similar specification.

QNAP TVS-873 - PC Review

The QNAP TVS-873 looks a little different from most other NAS products at first glance, and the internal components are quite surprising too. This NAS features a powerful quad-core AMD CPU and an integrated R7 GPU – both beyond the demands of what you would expect from a file-server NAS. As you may have guessed, TVS-873 isn’t designed to function as a simple “network attached storage” device. We’ve used this NAS as a fully-fledged all round server for a month, running several Virtual Machines, a file server, docker containers, Plex media server and several other smaller services. New RasPi was released today to celebrate the Raspberry Pi’s fifth birthday. Today the Raspberry Pi organisation has launched a new addition to its lineup. Unfortunately it doubles the price compared to the entry level Zero - to $10. The Raspberry Pi Zero W was launched today to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the original Raspberry Pi.

Rosewill RK-9300 Keyboard

The RK-9300 is Rosewill's latest keyboard built with function, form and pricing all kept in mind. Thermalright TRUE Spirit 140 Direct CPU Cooler Review

Thermalright is a company that has been around for more than a decade, and they’ve been dedicated to making high quality performance cooling products for the enthusiast. While we haven’t had a chance to review a Thermalright product in several years, we’re happy to have another one on the bench to check out. Today we’re going to take a look at a variation of the TRUE Spirit series.
What makes the TRUE Spirit 140 Direct unique over the others in its series is the fact that it utilizes direct touch heatpipes – five 6mm heatpipes to be exact. Utilizing direct contact heatpipes allows for superior cooling versus having to touch a copper base and then dissipate into the heatpipe. Another unique feature of the TRUE Spirit 140 Direct is the reduced installation height. Because of the direct touch heatpipe system, this cooler is 4mm lower than the TRUE Spirit 140 Rev. A and a whopping 9mm lower than the TRUE Spirit 140 Power. This reduced height will allow users to install this cooler into even more compact cases.
