ADATA XPG SX930 240GB and Premier SP550 240GB SSD

When we talk about SSDs, the question used to be, "Should I buy an SSD?". Now the question is, "How much SSD should I have?" Things have certainly evolved with solid state drives, and buying one is probably the best upgrade you can do for your system these days, if you haven't already got one installed. Today we're looking at a couple SSDs for those who don't want to break the bank: the ADATA XPG SX930 and Premier SP550, both in 240GB capacities, which should be enough to suit most needs. Let's see if one of these might be the right one for you.

AMD FX 8320E CPU Review

Three years ago AMD released the FX 8320 CPU featuring a 3.50 GHz base operating frequency that could go to a turbo mode of 4.00 GHZ for one core, or 3.75 GHZ for all cores, with a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of 125W. Realizing that some users wanted a lower TDP processor with the parameters of the FX 8320, AMD introduced the FX 8320E back in early September 2014. Featuring a 3.20 GHZ base clock, the FX 8320E could reach a 4.00 GHZ turbo mode for one core (3.60 GHZ for all cores) with a TDP of only 95W. This lower TDP allowed users to leverage the FX 8320E processor in small form factor setups or HTPC media centers with a lower cooling requirement.

With the FX processor line also come new instruction sets like Advance Vector Extensions (AVX) to increase parallelism for scientific and 3D applications, Floating-Point Vector Multiply-Accumulate (FMA4) and eXtended Operations (XOP) for improved floating point vector operations, and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for performance increases on encryption applications. AMD also incorporated the AMD Turbo CORE Technology with performance enhancing technologies to speed up the system whenever an application needs a boost in performance.

Antec P380 Full Tower Review

Most people i know almost always place price and size above quality, features and design when out to get a brand new PC case so when they ask my opinion on the matter they always point out that they want to get either a small or large (depends on the use) yet budget-friendly model. At the end of the day i don't really blame people for thinking that way since most casual consumers are worlds apart compared to enthusiasts, serious gamers and hardcore overclockers so spending much on a PC case especially nowadays is not something they'd do. However there are many people such as i who always prefer to get a case that offers pretty much everything they need from looks and build quality up to plenty of useful features and of course pay very little attention to price. The latest P380 by Antec may not be the largest full tower in the market today but according to Antec it's the most advanced model in their already successful Performance One line so we just had to see for ourselves.

Antec, Inc., is the leading global brand of high-performance computer components and accessories for the gaming, PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself (DIY) markets. Founded in 1986, Antec is recognized as a pioneer in these industries and has maintained its position as a worldwide market leader and international provider of efficient, quiet, and reliable products. Antec has also achieved great success in the distribution channel, meeting the demands of quality-conscious system builders, VARs and integrators. Antec’s offering of enclosures includes a large range of cases, such as its technically advanced Performance One Series, cost-effective New Solution Series and server grade cases designed for the needs of all workstation and server markets. Antec’s products also include front line power supplies such as its TruePower Quattro Series and EarthWatts, the most environmentally friendly power supplies available. PC gamers are an increasingly significant consumer of performance components, and many Antec products are geared toward the gaming demographic, like the Nine Hundred, the premier gamer enclosure. Antec also offers a computing accessories line comprised of many original products, including its patented LED Fans and Notebook Cooling solutions. Antec is headquartered in Fremont, California, with additional offices in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, as well as in Germany, China and Taiwan. The company’s products are sold in more than 40 countries throughout the world. Please visit www.antec.com for more information.

The P380 is part of the last wave of full towers to hit the market and since it's a member of the Performance One line by Antec we expected to encounter something special right from the get go. It measures 555mm in height, 223.6mm in width and 557mm in depth, has enough room for up to seven 120mm fans (or four 140mm and one 120mm) and/or two 360/240mm radiators, features a total of 9 PCI expansion slots and room for up to eight 2.5/3.5" drives and is dressed with noise-dampening material. However what makes the P380 standout is the lack of front 5.25" which have been replaced with a 6mm thick aluminium bezel which extends from the lower front and up to the rear top. We don't know how "practical" the P380 is since even we have use for 5.25" devices such as blu-rays and fan controllers which is all the more reason for us to move forward with this review.

Apple iPhone 6s Plus Review: Refining the flagship

The new iPhone 6S Plus also features an upgraded 12-megapixel iSight camera with 4K recording and a powerful new A9 processor that's up to 70 percent faster than the A8.

Deepcool GamerStorm Captain 240 Review

Deepcool is trying something different with its range of GamerStorm Captain All in One liquid coolers. The sizes are conventional (120mm, 240mm and 360mm) however the styling is quite distinct from the usual Asetek hardware we see employed by the likes of Corsair, NZXT and Thermaltake.

Lexar JumpDrive P20 USB 3.0 Flash Drive Review

Lexar has prepared the JumpDrive P20 USB 3.0 flash drive for competing with the high-end offerings from other brands and we can say that we were impressed by its performances in the both read and write departments. The unit we have tested is not the fastest since much higher write speeds are available with the 64GB and 128GB models; while the 32GB model can be found online for just about 24 Euros, the 64GB variant can be picked up for about 55 Euros while the top-of-the-line 128GB can be had for 91 Euros.

Reeven Ouranos CPU Cooler Review: Size + Smarts

There was a time when the prevalent design philosophy for CPU cooler design was "the bigger, the better". That is no longer the case as users now look for smarter implementations that are much more convenient and functional than simply brute-force cooling. Smaller coolers present the advantage of better compatibility with various components so the latest generation of large CPU … Read more.

Sapphire R9 390 Nitro Review

Better than the competing GTX 970? You know how HEXUS has taken a good look at the GeForce GTX 970 GPU? Notwithstanding the very minor real-world implications of arranging the 4GB framebuffer a certain way, ostensibly to maximise the benefits of the Maxwell architecture at a lower price point, GTX 970 has continued to sell in droves.

And why not? Retail partners bring a whole host of of capable cards to market from £250, and there's enough firepower to run the latest games at a lush 2,560x1,440 resolution. But hold on, because rival AMD has also made a play in the same marketplace with the revamped Radeon R9 390 card that is at direct financial loggerheads against the GTX 970.

The R9 390 is of interest again because just the other week we took a look at another partner GTX 970. The question of which offers better bang for your buck can't be made until an R9 390 partner card is put through its paces. Enter the Sapphire Nitro.

Silverstone ML06-E Mini-ITX HTPC Case Review

Still one of the only players in the very small form factor market, SilverStone has consistently iterated on its various designs to bring us new improvements and features, case after case. Not content to rest with their niche ML05 HTPC enclosure, they dressed up the exterior with a full aluminum panel and released the ML06. That isn’t the case Benchmark Reviews is reviewing here – SilverStone decided they weren’t done, and evolved the internals of the ML06 into the product we see here today: the ML06-E. Featuring re-worked internals but the same exterior dimensions, the ML06-E is poised to be the best of the series so far. Let’s take a closer look.

Star Wars: Battlefront Beta graphics card performance review

It has probably been the game that everybody talked about the most this year, Star Wars Battlefront has shocked and awed even since the first video's have been shown. The game is to be released later this year, yet there starting at October 8th there was an Open beta. In this beta we have a first impression of the game, as well as the ability to have a quick peek at its performance. Again, The Star Wars Battlefront Beta is a technical test and will give Rebels and Imperials alike just a small taste of the Star Wars battle fantasies you can expect to live out when the game launches on November 17.

NOTE: this is the first iteration of the review. As it is, once you test a couple of graphics cards, you'll get locked out of Origin due to 'hardware change'. Client side protections these days (Origin) make our VGA performance articles more and more difficult. In our situation we test on two cloned SSD images with the same PC. One Windows 10 clone for AMD Radeon graphics cards and one for Nvidia GeForce graphics cards
