Case Mod Friday: Project CLUNK

Welcome to another Case Mod Friday showcase! This week we have E.E.L. Ambiense's “Project CLUNK” build. Here is what he had to say about it, "My initial idea was to build something kind of post-apocalyptic or something and it quickly moved to putting it loosely in the Mad Max arena, hence the name. It's just a name borrowed from a character from Mad Max, but nothing to do with the character. It just clicked in place and fit the idea perfectly."

OCZ Vector 180 480GB

Over the last few months I have had the chance to check out a whole list of different SSD’s from a wide range of manufactures. For the most part all of them are sporting the new Phison S10 controller. While those drives have been fast I couldn’t help but notice that the OCZ drives that I tested well over a year ago were right up there holding their own. That got me wondering what the new PCZ drive is capable so I asked to check out the new Vector 180. Today I’m going to dig into it and see what they have going on and then run it through our benchmark suite to see how it performs to find out how it compares to everyone else’s new flagship drives.

Scan 3XS X99 Nanu Carbon Review

A small-form-factor PC geared for 4K gaming. We've seen an influx of products in the last couple of weeks that have opened-up new possibilities for PC builders and system integrators. At the top of the spectrum, ASRock has explored the potential of Intel's X99 chipset as a mini-ITX solution, while Nvidia has been busy setting new standards for GTX 900-series graphics with the launch of the ultra-fast GTX 980 Ti.

There's an opportunity here, clearly, and UK system integrator Scan Computers has put two-and-two together by launching the 3XS X99 Nanu Carbon.

Silicon Power Armor A65 1TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive

A couple of months ago, I went hiking with a bunch of my friends. After we reached the end of the trail at the top, there was a platform that overlooked the lake. As any social media enthusiast would recognize, this was a prime location to get your next Facebook profile picture taken, and not losing out on this opportunity, I asked my friend to climb down the slope adjacent to the platform with my phone to help me out. After a bunch of photos were shot, she climbed back up, and I met her just at the top of the slope where many people were standing. With my phone in her right hand, she reached out to me. Naturally, I took my phone back. Meanwhile, someone walking by saw the whole thing, and realizing what was going on, asked my friend if she needed some help up. She said she did. It was not until then I realized she actually wanted me to help her up rather than for me to take my phone back. I mean, why else would anyone reach out their hand in this situation, right? As you can see, sometimes, when we focus too much on one thing, we can totally overlook something (Or in my example, someone) else much more important. In the case of the Silicon Power Armor A65 1TB, it was designed with a lot of things in mind. It is shockproof, waterproof, and can be fully encrypted to protect you and your data against anything life has to throw at it. But is it still a good external hard drive that delivers in performance while looking good? Well, today, I "accidentally" dropped it the toilet after going through the full set of performance benchmarks. Read on to find out see if Silicon Power really got everything right, or if the company became so focused on one thing, the Armor A65 completely missed the point completely in another. Oh yeah, we still got to check if the drive still works.

The SilverStone Fortress FT05 Case Review

In this review, we are having a look at the SilverStone Fortress FT05. It is an atypical Midi-ATX case, mixing the rotated motherboard tray design of the Raven series with the elegance of the Fortress series. We are going to examine the fruits of this joining in this review.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Review

It was a long time in the making, and had multiple delays, so is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as good as we all hoped? For me at least, yes, and it is also one of the easiest recommendations I can give. If you are looking for a fantastic, story-based RPG with a lot to offer, this is what you want. There are only two reasons I can think of for a gamer to not want this game: no machine powerful enough to play it on, and a fear of 100+ hours to play. If you have the power and do not mind playing the same game over the course of weeks or months, depending on how long a play session is for you, then get this!
