The Olympus MIC-D Digital Microscope ($995 direct) brings an entirely new, extremely easy-to-use tool to amateur and educational microscopy at a price that consumers and teachers can afford.

Connecting to a PC via USB, the MIC-D shows specimens under the microscope as live images you view on a computer monitor-ideal for teaching or for hobbyists and others eager to let several people examine specimens at the same time. And within 10 minutes, we had the device out of the box, installed, and in use.
