The OpenOffice 1.0.1 Suite features 4 main programs. Writer (Word Processing), Calc (Spreadsheet), Impress (Presentations) and Draw (Drawing). Now obvious are the lack of a Personal Information Manager, and Desktop Publishing program. The lack of a PIM is a pretty big down side, but if you can get over this, I'd say for many of us, the essential programs are there and OpenOffice is free, as can be expected (since it is an Open Source program), and that alone says a lot. It is also available for users of Windows, Linux, and Solaris, and they are working on a Mac OS version as well.
