4K Gaming PC - December 2015

After a few years in which little happened in the area of PC displays, the 4K revolution is finally taking place. Graphics cards have to render four times as many pixels to drive a 4K display, while the game textures are only getting more detailed. In short: you need real horse power to game in 4K.

A fast processor and especially a graphics card is a must. For now, you even need a couple of the latter. However, the rest of the configuration needs to be balanced as well. Since many gamers prefer to overclock their PC to improve performance, it is important to choose a motherboard that is suitable for this.

Having the right accessories is equally important. The goal of our 4K Gaming PC is to be able to run virtually all new PC titles on the highest settings. That means high graphics quality settings, a good frame rate, and surround sound. And let’s not forget a good gaming mouse and a decent keyboard with features to enhance your PC gaming experience. Besides that, a nice gaming monitor will also help bring your gaming experience to the next level.

Canon PowerShot G9 X Review

It's every keen photographer's dream – a camera with a decent sized sensor that's still small enough to carry around everywhere. The G9 X has a 1-inch sensor, a comparatively new type that's four times larger than the 1/2.3-inch sensors in point-and-shoot cameras and more twice the size of the 1/1.7-inch sensors in older high-end compacts – including Canon's own highly regarded PowerShot S120. Remarkably, the G9 X is barely larger than the S120, itself considered in its time to be a brilliant bit of miniaturization.

When it comes to home security cameras there are so many options available. While this is really nice, it can also be overwhelming as you try to decide what is right for you and the environment you are trying to protect. Should you go with a traditional monitoring set up with wired cameras recording to back up drives, or a web based wireless solution? Kaiser Baas Revo Glider Review

When Dean Kamen invented the Segway, he famously said that his motorised personal transporter would be to the car what the car was to the horse and buggy.History has proven just how wrong he was on that particular front. But the idea of a self-balancing, two-wheel personalised transportation device lives on in the form of these newer self-balancing hoverboards. There are models flooding the world with different brands and names on offer, but they all look the same, likely being pumped out en masse from the same set of Chinese factories. The unit I tested was dubbed the Revo Glider from Kaiser Baas, but for all intents and purposes it's going to be pretty much the same device regardless of the brand you get.

While the general aesthetic is fairly universal, that doesn't really take away from what this thing actually does. Thanks to its internal gyroscopic motors, the Revo allows you glide across the ground, as though you were born with wheels instead of feet. Subtle shifts in your body's centre of gravity completely change your speed, direction and momentum, and that control is exhilarating.DesignThere's not a lot to the design of these things – it kind of looks like a Segway accidentally knocked up a skateboard and then left town to avoid the alimony payments.

MSI B150M Mortar Review

The hardware level build quality is just part of the package and the performance bears that out. However, it's no longer about just the hardware, it's about the entire package. That package includes the utilities that complement the hardware. In this respect, MSI is bundling some pretty decent software packages that add functionality and are integrated really nicely with the board's capabilities. Tools such as RamDisk, Gaming Hotkey, Audio Boost, Click BIOS 5, and Gaming LAN controller, just to name a few. The only real negative is that the board only officially supports AMD's multi-GPU solution, CrossFireX. That being said, when you think about the price point targeted, will users be installing a pair of GPUs in the board? Doubtful. All the hardware and tools are packed into a military themed board that currently sells at an $88 price point. If overclocking is not your forte, don't worry; MSI has you covered with the Arsenal Series B150M Mortar.

Nexus 6P Review: Google's Magnificent Marshallow Powered Flagship

Today we're taking a look at Google's latest Nexus-branded phablet, the Nexus 6P. Arriving just under a year after the Motorola-built, 5.96-inch Nexus 6, the Nexus 6P is actually a hair smaller, thinner and indeed, slightly more manageable. The 6P also marks Huawei's first foray into Google's Nexus family of products, which may allow the company to make a larger impact on the U.S. market -- a market which has been hesitant to embrace the brand on its own to this point.

In terms of its specifications, the Nexus 6P is a significant upgrade over the Moto-built Nexus 6 from 2014. It's also far more attainable. Rather than a $699 starting point as with the Nexus 6, the Nexus 6P starts at $499 for the 32GB model, and even the top-end 128GB model costs but $649. To put that in perspective, the top-end 128GB iPhone 6s Plus demands $949. So, how does Google's latest Android purity-powered Nexus stack up?

We'll explore precisely that in the pages ahead...

Scythe Ninja 4 CPU Cooler Review: All Hail the Kingslayer

If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again. Nobody gets things right the first time and even if done well, needs change over time so a revision is almost always guaranteed to happen. It is not about striving for perfection because what that is cannot be a clearly defined point, but it can be approached.
