VIA Hardware has posted a review on the PC Geiger.

Ok so you thought you were a geek? We have posted a review on the PC Geiger. Brought to you by VICS Technology and IOSS (the makers of the invaluable BIOS Savior), the PC Geiger enables the real-time monitoring of the PCI bus, port 80h debugging information plus a host of connectors and switches brought to your front panel. VICS Technology market the Geiger with the slogan Reveal the Truth!.

The PC Geiger comprises a digital display that occupies one of the standard 5.25 drive bays on the front of your PC case, and a small card that plugs in to one of your PCI slots. Don't worry: the device simply monitors the PCI bus - it doesn't use an IRQ or any I/O space and nor does it require any operating system support or drivers. Think of this as an overgrown voltmeter. It will work without any operating system installed - in fact, it will even work without the CPU installed. The device provides a number of features:

· Monitoring of the PCI bus clock frequency (MHz)
· Monitoring of the PCI bus utilization (as a percentage)
· Monitoring of the data transfer rate over the PCI bus (in kB/s or MB/s)
· Display of the Port 80h/84h BIOS self-diagnostic information
· Three user configurable front-panel switches with auxiliary LED
· Two USB and one IEEE1394 (Firewire) ports

This is surely something any overclocker or tweaker would want to check out.
