Hardware Unlimited has posted a review on the Pentium 4 1.7Ghz CPU
As far as processor design goes, the new 1.7Ghz Pentium 4 is nearly a mirror image of the three previous Pentium 4’s.Read more
One of the only changes we can note is the increase in recommended CPU voltage, now running at 1.75 V versus 1.70 V in the 1.3 ~ 1.5Ghz models. After testing out the 1.7Ghz for nearly 48 hours and running the system for 24 continuous hours, we had no problems at all as far as heat goes. If you recall, the Pentium 4 1.5Ghz should dissipate about 50-52W at max. Moreover, the new Athlons are dissipating nearly 73W. The new 1.7Ghz dissipates about 56W, which is still a heck of a lot lower then the Athlons, which is a good sign.
