Many consider Plextor as the crème da la crème of CDRW and CDROM drives. They have certainly been making drives for a while now and reliability has not been a problem. Plextor is also one of the few manufacturers who produce drives with both IDE and SCSI interfaces. We would like to thank Plextor Europe for providing us with a their 16x10x40A CDRW drive. The PXW161040A can write at 16x write, re-write at 10x and read CDs at 40X speeds. The ‘A’ at the end signifies an ATAPI unit, which is basically IDE.
