ASRock X370 Gaming-ITX/ac Motherboard Review

With high performance desktop ITX options appearing more frequently with each new generation of chipset, ASRock released a pairing of AM4 offerings to satisfy small form factor enthusiasts. Although the ASRock X370 Gaming-ITX/ac is one of the most expensive AMD Ryzen compatible motherboards on the market, it tries to offer more than the standard mini-sized motherboard.

The X370 Gaming-ITX/ac is marketed towards gamers with the board being associated Fatal1ty branding; ASRock has a branding deal and partnership with the successful early-2000s gamer, Johnathan ‘Fatal1ty’ Wendel. The idea is that being gaming focused - there will be gaming features. This starts with a typical gaming color scheme: an all-black PCB with a pairing of metallic red power delivery chipset heatsinks.

ASUS Coffee Lake Gaming Laptops Revealed

ASUS ROG Product Manager Louis Lu gave us a thorough briefing on the key features of the ASUS Coffee Lake gaming laptops, as well as their specifications and prices. He also compared them to the competition from MSI, Lenovo, Acer and Dell.

The new ASUS Coffee Lake gaming laptops all come with the new 8th Gen Intel Core processors. Codenamed Coffee Lake, they offer up to 6 processor cores, with 10% better performance than the 7th Gen Core (Kaby Lake) processors, and 30% better performance than the 6th Gen (Skylake) Core processors.

Corsair AX1600i PSU Review

In todays review we are taking a look at Corsairs AX1600i, the companys new flagship PSU. Although it is physically smaller than its predecessor, the AX1600i brings higher-than 80Plus Titanium efficiency levels and a maximum output of 1600 Watts. Its retail price of $500 is forbidding for most users, but the Gallium-Nitride MOSFETs and other innovations at the heart of Corsairs new bruiser paint an incredible picture of what we can expect for the future of PSUs.

ECS Z370 Lightsaber Motherboard Review

The ECS Z370 Lightsaber motherboard is the latest offering in ECS' L337 product line, offering support for the Intel Z370 chipset. Similar to previous iterations of the Lightsaber board, the Z370-Lightsaber builds on the those board by adding dual-m.2 slot support, enhanced power support, as well as support for the latest Intel Coffee Lake-based processors. With an MSRP of $199, ECS priced the Z370 Lightsaber to be price-competitive with other mid-tier Z370-based offerings.

Extinction Xbox One Review

Extinction is fun for a few hours, but it's not even close to being worth the asking price.

Built around the concept of taking down Godzilla-sized foes with your trusty sword and legendary climbing skills, Shadow of the Colossus is widely regarded as one of the best games in history. Extinction, a brand new title for the Xbox One, attempts to recreate the magic of Colossus, but lacks the interesting story or great gameplay that made it special. The result is an experience that feels shallow and unsatisfying.

FSP CMT510 RGB Mid-Tower Chassis Review

With a company such as FSP, we are still building an opinion on them and their entry to the case market. With only one chassis to base an opinion on, the CMT210, we feel that there is not enough information on hand to make an educated guess on what they are all about, or what the exact market share is that they are trying to accommodate. If we had to conclude from what we have seen already, we feel that with the chassis we looked at, FSP was a bit behind the times, since the CMT210 is an old school looking design, and did not offer the things which many buyers demand of their cases these days.

HP SSD EX920 1TB M.2 Drive Review

Last week, Legit Reviews took an in-depth look at the HP SSD EX900 M.2 drive series to see how HP’s first DRAM-less storage drive performed. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the HP SSD EX920 drive series that includes DRAM on the M.2 2280 gumstick SSD. HP went with the Silicon Motion SM2262 controller for this drive and paired it with Micron 64-layer TLC NAND Flash memory. That combination gives the HP SSD EX920 drive series offers sequential speeds of up to 3200 MB/s read and 1800 MB/s write. Random 4K performance is also good with up to 350,000 IOPS read and 260,000 IOPS write. The HP SSD EX920 M.2 series is available in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB right now with plans for a 2TB drive at a future date. Right now the HP SSD EX 920 M.2 series is priced at $109.99 shipped for the 256GB, $199.99 shipped for the 512GB and $369.99 shipped for the 1TB drive. These prices are about 10% lower than competitors using the same controller, so this could be a price versus performance winner!

Intel Releases 10 TFLOPS Chip

In a newsroom post, Intel announced today the Intel Stratix 10 FPGA. This special chip is the fastest chip of it's kind in the world, boasting 10 trillion calculations per second. Field programmable gate arrays differ from standard CPUs as they can be re-programmed on the fly to perform specialized computing tasks.

That is some incredible power for sure, a handful of those could give the HardOCP DC team a boost.

MSI GE63 Raider RGB 8RE Laptop Review

Gaming laptops are becoming a more common feature for people on the go. In some instances as well, they are getting ever popular due to the increasing price of PC components. As such, we have been lucky enough to get to check out and put the MSI GE53 Raider RGB 8RE laptop to the test.

Packing an Intel 8th generation i7 Processor and a Nvidia 1060 GPU, this is, at least on paper, a strong performer. This laptop, however, is not all about power. It also managed to do it in style with various RGB lighting effects to both the laptop exterior and the keyboard.

Popular YouTuber Says Apple Won't Fix His iMac Pro Damaged While Disassembled

Linus Sebastian, who runs the popular YouTube channel Linus Tech Tips, recently shared a video in which he claimed Apple and an Apple Authorized Service Provider denied to service his damaged iMac Pro.

For background, Sebastian and his team fully disassembled the iMac Pro in January for their video review, which shows components like the main logic board and memory modules laid out individually. The real-time footage of the damage occurring in the new video appears to be a reenactment with visual effects.

Synology DiskStation DS418 4-Bay NAS Review

Within the DS418 beats a quad-core processor with a base clock of 1.4GHz which is coupled with 2GB DDR4 memory. The processor used is the Realtek RTD1296 which is a 64-bit processor. It comes with hardware encryptions engine as well as 10-bit H.265 hardware transcoding engine.

Things are also basic but good when it comes to the connection options. The DS418 features dual Gigabit Ethernet for failover and aggregation as well as two USB 3.0 ports. A lot of SOHO users might think, I don’t need dual ethernet, but SMB admins will feel joy over it. While a dual-port setup isn’t optimal in every situation, it increases the possibilities.
