PortsLock 1.3 has been released:
SmartLine Inc would like to announce PortsLock version 1.3 - a unique security solution on the market that enables Systems Administrators to set permissions on the TCP/IP connections. PortsLock protects corporate networks against attacks from the inside.
Preventing the introduction of inappropriate data is important when trying to protect and administer a company's computer network. Almost 80% of security breaches come from within a corporate network, hence it is imperative to control who has access to network resources inside the network. Windows NT/2000/XP and Windows Server 2003 have a lot of built-in access control features that should be used by Systems Administrators to designate user access to various areas. Unfortunately, standard access control solutions (including personal firewalls) do not allow the assignment of permissions for TCP/IP connections on a per user basis (as you could for files on NTFS). PortsLock allows you to solve all such security problems.
PortsLock is a firewall with user-level access controls for Windows NT/2000/XP and Windows Server 2003. Once PortsLock is installed, administrators can assign permissions to TCP/IP connections, just as they would in managing permissions on an NTFS partition of a hard disk.
What's New in PortsLock 1.3 (versus 1.2):
- Added Configuration Analyzer. It uses for correctly configuring permissions and auditing settings.
- Now you can filter records in the Monitoring list and in the Audit log.
- The better compatibility with ZoneAlarm and other firewalls.
