System Cooling has posted a review on the PQI Turbo 1GB Ultra Low Latency PC3200 memory
With the constant push for ultra high memory speeds, it seems like every manufacturer has at least one product in their line designed to run beyond PC4000 speeds, or in some cases, even higher. And this only for the DDR platform - never mind DDR2. Consequently, the venerable DDR400 (PC3200) platform has languished in the background somewhat. However, one side effect of those tremendous speeds is the necessity of running considerably higher latencies, which in part negates some of the speed increase. Recently, some high performance memory manufacturers have revisited good old DDR400 memory, and spruced it up for use with even today's fastest systems. The memory we're looking at today, PQI's Turbo 1GB Ultra Low Latency PC3200, is a perfect example of this trend. It is still DDR400 memory, but it's designed to operate with very tight timings, which helps it gain back some of what it loses in sheer speed when compared to faster offerings.Read more
