Latest AIDA64 boasts Radeon RX 570/580 & 16C/32T Ryzen support

Developer FinalWire has since realised its mistake and edited the release notes. A case in point came to light today when FinalWire, the developers of the respected AIDA64 benchmarking toolset released a new beta version of the AIDA64 Extreme software (Version: 5.90.4208 beta (Apr 04, 2017)).

MSI Trident 3 Arctic Review

Putting Core i7 and GTX 1070 under the big-screen TV. 2017 is shaping up to be a great year for small-form-factor PCs and we get the feeling this perennially niche segment of the market is on the verge of breaking into the mainstream. The likes of the Corsair One, Asus ROG GR8 II and HP Pavilion Wave have already shown us what modern hardware can do when shoehorned into compact chassis, and MSI is redoubling its efforts with the new Trident 3 Arctic.

Priced at £1,800 and introduced as a more powerful revision of the original Trident, the third-generation Arctic ups the ante by pairing an Intel Core i7-7700 processor with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics. A potent mix for any PC, so it's all the more impressive to see that MSI has squeezed said hardware into a games-console-like chassis measuring 346mm x 72mm x 233mm.

Project Build: Carmine - Part 1

So the launch of Ryzen was exciting because AMD was finally rejoining the high-end market on the CPU side of things and a lot of the benchmarks were very exciting. So once it was all finished up I had to get a proper AMD build together. The original plan was my wife's new PC might be running a Ryzen 7 CPU but ITX AM4 boards aren’t out yet so rather than wait I decided to build an AMD themed build right away. While Ryzen has gray and orange as its colors I decided to stick with the traditional black and red as AMD has used them both a lot in the past. So I started gathering parts and decided on a project name as well. This build is going to be called Carmine as it is a shade of red while also avoiding the traditional red themed names like Ruby. I’m still working on getting in components and planning out the build but I did want to at least get a post up with the base components we are going with, so check them out!

Project Scorpio: Jaguar CPU, Polaris GPU, 12GB memory

Digital Foundry's Richard Leadbetter hypes up Project Scorpio's raw power, despite the fact the system uses an 8-core Jaguar CPU that's been "evolved" to target latency and synergy with the system's highly customized GPU. The GPU itself does indeed hit 6TFLOPs of power, and has 40 compute units at 1172MHz, giving the system an 11% increase in Radeon hardware and a 27% boost in frequency, totaling for a 47% compute advantage.
