A Year With NVMe RAID 0 in a Real World Setup

There are a lot of misconception and some right information out there when it comes to the combination of solid state drives with RAID setups and what better way is there to get to the root of them than to create a real world test setup and find out. I have been running this setup for a year now and it is time to take a closer look at how well the two drives in my setup have performed.

Performing a test like this would already be a fun one with normal SSDs, but it would be even more fun to do it with NVMe drives that on themselves are around four times faster than SATA3 drives. Since I got a motherboard that supports two NVMe M.2 drives and has Intel RAID onboard, why not go full hawk and go for the best. At least, that was my thinking.

Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation Review

The easy question to answer right now is if Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation is worth getting if you do not already have a version of the game, and in my opinion, it is if you enjoy RTS games. It is fun and is doing many things right that make it very satisfying to play. Whether you should get it if you already have the original game is harder to answer, but I still think it is worth it. It builds on the original very well, and even though some of its features will be added to the original eventually, if you enjoyed the original, I think you will want to play this. Wait if you want, but I will still recommend it.

Cooler Master 212 LED CPU Cooler Review

With a long history in the PC component market, Cooler Master is often a popular choice for any system builder. Their now legendary 212 cooler series has long been the go-to product for those looking for excellent price vs performance ratios, and the best starting point for anyone looking to upgrade from the often lacklustre stock coolers that come with their new CPU. Over the years, we’ve seen a few minor revisions to the 212 cooler design, and the latest comes with a few minor tweaks, as well as the addition of an LED fan, giving it a little extra visual flair and giving the consumer a little more value for money at the same time.

“Hyper 212 LED is equipped with PWM Fan with red LEDs and provides the best airflow and static pressure to take the heat away. And four direct contact heat pipes with funnel shaped aluminum fins provide the optimized CPU coolers for great performance. Moreover, the improved universal bracket designs ensure easy and worry free installation on all platforms.” – Cooler Master

Equipped with four heat pipes, dual-fan support (one fan included), and an easy to use multi-socket mounting system, the 212 certainly ticks all the right boxes, especially so given that it costs around £30, which is certainly kind to your wallet.

MSI GS63VR 6RF Stealth Pro Review

MSI is the master of product naming. Their gaming laptops follow a well-established nomenclature where a random collection of numbers and letters is not at all confusing and certainly easy to remember. Hence why "GS63VR 6RF" is a great name for a powerful 15-inch notebook.

Ring Stick Up Cam and Solar Panel

As the story goes; back in 2011 James Siminoff came up with an idea to reinvent the doorbell. After getting his wife's blessing he assembled a team and came up with the Doorbot. Eventually he thought the name was too techie and changed it to the Ring Video Doorbell. So with a highly successful product Ring has ventured out in additional ways to keep neighborhoods safe. One such product they came up with is the Ring Stick Up Cam, and in this review we are going to take a look at what this camera has to offer.

The Ring Stick Up Cam is roughly the same size and shape as the original Ring Video Doorbell and the feature set is very similar. Packed in the black housing is a 720p camera, a built in battery, night vision capability, motion detection, 2-way audio, and a one year warranty but a lifetime theft replacement policy. Below are some additional details and specifications on the device taken from the official product page on the Ring website...

ROCCAT Cross Review

Fashion headphones are unfortunately a 'thing' and it is something that people love. That is the power the mainstream media has over the poor minds of the world (OBEY). That being said, it makes good business sense to tap this with an 'on-trend' headset that not only looks the part, but has a twist of gaming aggression.

The ROCCAT Cross is lighter than many headsets in its class at just 186g, and it ships with two different cables to improve versatility. A shorter mobile cable (1.2m) with a 4pole jack and an in-line microphone, and a longer cable (2.35m) featuring separate headphone/microphone jacks and a boom microphone. Despite its lightweight stature and its sleek all black finish, ROCCAT have equipped the Cross with 'studio grade' 50mm neodymium drivers that promise to deliver superior audio quality in all media.

In around 15 minutes, the time it takes to install Ubuntu Server Edition, you can have a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) server up and ready to go. This feature, exclusive to Ubuntu Server Edition, is available at the time of installation. The LAMP option means you don’t have to install and integrate each of the four separate LAMP components, a process which can take hours and requires someone who is skilled in the installation and configuration of the individual applications. Instead, you get increased security, reduced time-to-install, and reduced risk of misconfiguration, all of which results in a lower cost of ownership.Currently this installation provide PostgreSQL database, Mail Server, Open SSH Server,Samba File Server, Print Server, Tomcat Java Server,Virtual Machine Host,Manual Package selection,LAMP and DNS options for pre-configured installations, easing the deployment of common server configurations.
