Alphacool Eisbaer 240 Expandable AIO Review

Recently we have seen a fair few all-in-one liquid coolers here at KitGuru. While they offer good performance, typically better than competing air coolers at least, you simply stick them in your case and forget about them. Alphacool wants to change that mentality with its new Eisbaer range. The Eisbaer AIO is expandable – meaning there is more to it than simply whacking it in your case and enjoying the reduced temperatures.

Battlefield 1 PC graphics card benchmark review

al finished game. As such welcome to the Battlefield 1 PC performance review. It's that time of the year, EA is finally releasing Battlefield 1. We will look at the game in our geeky gamer way. We'll test the game on the PC platform relative towards graphics card performance with the latest AMD/NVIDIA graphics card drivers. Multiple graphics cards are being tested and benchmarked. We have a look at performance with the newest graphics cards and technologies.

In this article we'll examine Battlefield 1 in our usual manners. We'll test the game on the PC platform relative towards graphics card performance with the latest AMD/NVIDIA graphics card drivers. Multiple graphics cards are being tested and bench-marked with the latest cards such as the GeForce GTX 10 series included as well as Radeon RX series 400 cards. With the newest graphics cards and technologies we'll try and see how well this DirectX 12 title performs. Battlefield 1 is a title that many have been waiting for, and from the looks of it, the game will definitely deliver in a classy single player way, multi-player awesomeness and yes pretty nice graphics that will play many graphics cards. You are going to need a modern PC with at least a mainstream graphics card to run the game nicely. Battlefield while being a DX12 title, doesn't mean it will be a fully DX12 enabled game. Battlefield 1 does not support all DX12 APIs like Explicit Multi-GPU, for SLI adn Crossfire, you will be better suited with DirectX 11 mode. We however will test in DX 12 mode. This shows with the recommended CPU requirement being a Core i7-4790 or AMD FX-8350. The system memory requirement for top level AAA game graphics is going to be at least 2GB paired with a graphics card in the order of a GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 480 with at least 4GB. Starting at that level you should be able to run the game at around 1080p with 40 FPS on high graphics setting. But we'll look at the best quality settings, of course as we are all PC gamers right ?

BitFenix Aurora Mid-Tower Tempered Glass Chassis Review

BitFenix has been on the market for years, offering many hugely successful chassis that are still just as popular today as they’ve ever been. Now they’re back with their latest product, the Aurora, which comes decked out in glorious tempered glass on both the left and right side panels, giving you a great way to show off your build.

“Aurora is designed for high end aesthetically pleasing builds with water-cooled systems carrying an elegant theme of curved lines and glass windows with “BitFenix RGB Chroma Control” and “BitFenix SSD Chroma” certified by “ASUS AURA” letting you take control of the illumination of your system.”

There are a lot of buzz words thrown around these days, the biggest of which is RGB, so naturally the chassis has you covered there with its funky RGB SSD Chroma mount, which is also compatible with ASUS AURA, allowing you to sync up your systems lighting with the built-in chassis lighting

Cougar Revenger Review

It would be fair to say that the Pixart PWM3360 is one of the most advanced optical sensors that is publicly available (the PWM3366 is exclusive to Logitech). Cougar have now implemented this sensor in the Revenger gaming mouse, which appears to be based on the 500M series mice already in their stable.

Freshtech Solutions Project 7 GTX 1080 Gaming PC Review

Whenever a new piece of hardware is released, it provides systems integrators with the opportunity to conjure up innovative builds which have a unique sense of style. During the past few months, RGB lighting has become incredibly popular and allowed consumers to enjoy an attractive PC based on their favourite colour. While some critics argue the reliance on flamboyant RGB lighting is going to become tiresome after a while, this doesn’t appear to be the case right now. Even if you’re not an advocate of ostentatious colour combinations, the customisable lighting can be switched off to create a more understated appearance. I mention the importance of RGB illumination because Freshtech Solutions latest pre-configured system is built around an intriguing new chassis from Aerocool.

The FreshTech Solutions Project 7 comes with an Intel Core i5-6600K overclocked to 4.4GHz, Corsair Vengeance 16GB LPX DDR4 3000MHz memory and the Zotac GTX 1080 AMP Edition. Not only that, the system is powered by an EVGA 700-watt PSU which opts for a non-modular design, Samsung 850 EVO 500GB boot drive and a secondary 1TB device for mass storage. On another note, the CPU is kept under control by Corsair’s dependable H110i GT liquid cooler and should run at a gentle fan curve. This fantastic combination of hand-picked components is installed in the unique Aerocool Project 7 case and looks spectacular. Even though the price hasn’t been finalised, Freshtech Solutions informs me it should be around £1399. This is higher than initially planned due to the weaker GBP to USD ratio. Whatever the case, the system looks very promising and I cannot wait to examine it in greater detail.

HyperX CloudX Revolver Gears of War headset Review

HyperX has stepped up its game when it comes to Xbox accessories, but this new headset is something else.

The HyperX Cloud Revolver is currently among the most premium headsets offered by the company. To celebrate Gears of War 4, HyperX teamed up with Microsoft to put a unique spin on the headset's outward design, making it the ultimate audio option for Gears fans everywhere. Still, even the most awesome headset design in the world wouldn't be worth it if the audio quality was bad. Thankfully, I can report that this isn't the case.

Is the Gears of War version of the HyperX Cloud Revolver headset good enough to make celebrating your Gears 4 fandom worthwhile over a more expensive, potentially more premium headset? Let's find out. ...

Samsung 960 Pro SSD Review

Samsung developed several new technologies for its 960 Pro NVMe SSD, and the end result is a massive 2TB M.2 product that tips the price scale at $1,300. Over the past two years, the Pro series has shifted from a product for enthusiasts and power users to more of a workstation-focused product. The shift stems from declining SSD prices fueled by entry-level pricing from Samsung’s competitors. The company’s own general-use EVO series, which has the highest market share of any SSD on the market, also plays a role in the declining costs.

Samsung SSD 960 Pro NVMe M.2 Review: Blazing Fast, Solid State Storage

Samsung announced its latest, consumer-class NVMe M.2-based solid state drives a few weeks back, the SSD 960 Pro and SSD 960 EVO, but today marks the official launch of those products. As has been the case for the last couple of generations, the EVO moniker denotes the more mainstream line-up, while the Pro designation is reserved for higher-end, flagship products. If you check out our coverage of the initial announcement, you’ll see that the Samsung SSD 960 EVO line has some killer specifications, with read speeds in the 3.2GB/s range and prices that are competitive with other NVMe M.2 solid state drives in its class. The Samsung SSD 960 Pro line, however, is an absolute beast with peak transfer speeds reportedly in the 3.5GB/s range and ultra-high endurance ratings too.

Since the initial announcement, the enthusiast community has been chomping at the bit for these drives. Thankfully, today, we can put Samsung’s performance claims to the test. We’ve got a 1TB Samsung SSD 960 Pro in house and have run it through a series of benchmarks, alongside some of the best NVMe-based solid state drives currently on the market...

The Samsung 960 Pro (2TB) SSD Review

A year ago, Samsung brought their PCIe SSD technology to the retail market in the form of the Samsung 950 Pro, an NVMe M.2 SSD with Samsungs 3D V-NAND flash memory. The 950 Pro didnt appear out of nowhere—Samsung had shipped two generations of M.2 PCIe SSDs to OEMs, but before the 950 Pro they hadnt targeted consumers directly.

Now, the successor to the 950 Pro is about to hit the market. The Samsung 960 Pro is from one perspective just a generational refresh of the 950 Pro: the 32-layer V-NAND is replaced with 48-layer V-NAND that has twice the capacity per die, and the UBX SSD controller is replaced by its Polaris successor that debuted earlier this year in the SM961 and PM961 OEM SSDs.
