I am Not a Geek dot com has posted a review on the Samsung SyncMaster 900NF 19" flat CRT monitor

Although I didn´t actually run into this problem, I did see in the manual a problem that can occur causing vertical lines on the screen. The only reason I am mentioning it is because I find the solution amusing. It is possible that thin vertical black lines may appear. This effect is caused by grille element overlap which can occur in shipping. Here is the solution quoted from the manual "We suggest slapping the cabinet sides with an open palm and after the monitor is warm". If only more problems could be solved like that.
