Sapphire HD 7870 FleX Edition Video Card Review
AMD has been touting their Eyefinity feature for a while now. It allows a single graphics card to power 3 monitors for epic gaming action. The downside is that almost all cards require you to get a pricey active DisplayPort to DVI adapter if your third monitor doesn’t support DisplayPort natively. These adapters can cost around $30, an unwelcome cost on top of the hundreds you just spent for a nice graphics card. This is where Sapphire shines. They have a line of cards called the FleX edition. These cards are able to run all 3 monitors in Eyefinity without the need for a DisplayPort adapter.
We’ve looked at a few FleX edition cards in the past. They have all easily been worth the price if you plan on using 3 monitors. Today we take a look at another one, the Sapphire HD 7870 FleX Edition. We take a look at the performance of this card and see how it stacks up to its big brother, the 7950 FleX in both performance and price.
