Scythe has a well-earned reputation for innovative and unique heatsink fan (HSF) designs. In this review we will take an in-depth look at their new Kamakiri cooler along with one of their popular, established products, the FCS-50 CPU cooler.

Both the new Kamakiri and older FCS-50 CPU coolers incorporate heat pipe technology to quickly and efficiently transport waste processor heat away from the CPU. Each cooler comes with universal mounting hardware that allows attaching it to either Intel (socket 370/478) or AMD (socket 754/939/940) platforms. The Kamakiri also includes Intel (socket LGA775) support.
