Windows 2000 Professional comes with a new tool for tracking down files on your hard drive called Search Assistant. The Search Assistant is much more powerful than its predecessor, Find, and has a brand new HTML interface that looks a lot like Internet Explorer 5.x´s Search feature. In fact, the Windows 2000 Search Assistant acts as a one-stop searching tool because it also allows you to search for Web sites on the Internet and for people on LDAP directory services as well as searching for files and folders on your hard drive or computers on your network.
