Antec HCG 750W Bronze Power Supply Unit Review

The new High Current Gamer Bronze line of Power Supply Units by Antec may be far from impressive but they are a valid solution for people looking for a high quality and performance model with a balanced price tag attached to it.

Serious gamers, enthusiasts and professionals may always have their eyes set on high-wattage power supply units with several high-end features such as 80 Plus Platinum and Titanium electrical certifications but it's always important to remember that the largest piece of the consumer market belongs to people who put price above everything else (a friend of mine also pointed that out less than a week ago when he went to buy a new one for his system). Luckily as expected most manufacturers are well aware of that fact so lately we've seen quite a few feature-rich mid-end models in the sub-1KW range aimed at people with tight budgets such as the brand new High Current Gamer 750W Bronze model (HCG750 Bronze) by our friends over at Antec.

Antec Kühler H2O K240 Review

A 240mm AIO liquid cooler for £59.99! Sounds good but how does it perform? When building a new system, you have either the choice of the stock Intel or AMD cooler (if provided), or travel down the aftermarket route. This can open up a host of options. Air or liquid, size and price all need to be considered and it can be tricky to peg down the one most suited for your chosen need.

Antec has attempted to address this with a competitively priced 240 mm AIO liquid option – the Kühler H2O K240. This cooler supports a multitude of different CPU sockets but does look less flashy than the host of available RGB LED options. At £59.99 it looks to be offering good value for money, but today we find out if that is the case.

Mega Man 11 Review

Mio MiVue 766 WIFI Smart Dashcam Review

That means we can give you our own performance testing and thoughts! We’ll be using two NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti FE graphics cards for our SLI setup and we’ll be using the NVIDIA GeForce RTX NVLink 3-slot bridge connector. This setup is extremely expensive and won’t be for everyone. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti video cards run $1,200 each and the NVLink Bridge connector is available for $79. That means you are looking at just shy of $2500 for this setup. We’ll be using an Acer Predator X27 27″ IPS LED 4K 144Hz G-Sync HDR display to benchmark these cards as you need an amazing display to accommodate graphics cards like these. The Acer Predator X27 is $2,000 shipped, so this article will be a look at performance of a dream build for many of our readers. Not everyone can spend over $5,000 for a Gaming PC and we understand that. This is for those that are curious how well NVIDIA’s new flagship graphics card can do in SLI. Shadow of the Tomb Raider: PC Graphics Benchmark Review

We've been very busy with all kinds of embargo reviews lately, hence a review that was pending is this performance overview of Tomb Raider, 2018. We check out the all-new Shadow of the Tomb Raider for the PC and test it with many graphics card. We'll also look deeper into DX11 and DX12 performance as this game on the PC might actually be the very first PC game with a properly implemented DirectX 12 API. Probably the delay that was for the better as day-1 patches changed a thing or two, as well as the latest AMD and NVIDIA driver optimizations, are in full effect.

While we will be testing with the new GeForce RTX cards as well, the game, unfortunately, does not have Raytracing features enabled. Once that happens we are going to add an extra chapter in this review to update you guys on the performance effect of that on the new RTX cards. This PC version was optimized in cooperation with Nvidia, SotTR is part of the GameWorks program. Thus, in the game, things like HBAO+ ambient occlusion can be found again. As mentioned, Shadow of the Tomb Raider will also support raytracing on the new GeForce RTX graphics cards using Turing technology. Also, deep-learning AA, DLSS will be implemented but is not yet present.
