OC Workbench sends a press release from SiS

Taipei, March 13, 2002 – Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS), a leading core logic and graphics chip supplier, announced today its debut as an exhibitor at CeBIT 2002 where it is displaying SiS648/963 and SiS330. The former represents a Pentium 4 platform solution with leading DDR400 memory support while SiS330, the 3D graphics chip which supports AGP8X, demonstrate the new generation of graphic display technology.

“Being the first to make available high-performance DDR400 and AGP8X PC products, SiS has proven its excellent R&D capabilities and boosted its determination to be the technology leader in the industry,” said SiS Senior Vice President Shing Wang. “SiS648 supports DDR400 and resolves the extremely high memory bandwidth required by the powerful Pentium 4 while AGP8X satisfies the strong expectation for even faster display technology. By integrating both features, SiS330 could maximize the performance of Intel Pentium 4 PCs.”

In addition to exhibiting its newest DDR400 and AGP8X products, SiS is also demonstrating the diverse applications of its complete product line. South bridge SiS962, with complete support for new-generation peripheral interfaces IEEE1394A and USB2.0, will be displayed with various peripheral devices, presenting the concept of a personal digital workspace. ASUS, Mitac, and GVC notebooks that use integrated chipsets SiS650 and SiS740 will also be displayed to show SiS’ achievement in the field of notebook computers.

Last year, SiS launched the SiS550 Family, the SoC product that integrates CPU, south bridge chip and graphics engine. At CeBIT 2002, SiS will demonstrate various applications for information appliances, such as set-top boxes, panel PCs and videophones. In the networked world, SiS is also exploring and expanding into the field of data communications and will unveil its SiS120 ADSL chip, its springboard into data and wireless communications at the show.
