AMD Zeppelin is an 8 core Zen

This tied in with a story in August of 2015 where Fudzilla wrote about a MCM Multi Chip module that featured a Zeppelin core, a super-fast 100GB/s interconnection via 4 GMI links and Greenland (Vega) high performance GPU with 4+ TFlops of performance. This APU will still happen, it will just be a bit later – the end of 2017. 
Now we have a few more details about Zeppelin cluster and this is proving to be another "Fudzilla told you so" moment.  Apparently you can put up to four Zeppelin CPU clusters on a one chip and make a 32 core chip. This will be connected via coherent interconnect (coherent data fabric).

Drobo 5N Review

The 5N is a well priced 5 bay NAS from the US American manufacturer Drobo. On the inside there is a quad core SoC making sure there is enough processing power and apart from that there is a 1 Gigabit Ethernet interface for quick transfers. Drobo is keen on making their NAS as easy to use as possible. One key feature is the possibility to add disk drives of different sizes to an array.

Gigabyte 990FX Gaming Motherboard Review

At the time of this review Intel had just released the new Broadwell-E processor which is a new LGA 2011v3 CPU for the X99 platform. With the launch many companies have taken the opportunity to refresh their motherboards to support the new technology which is now available. While a processor launch creates a convenient reason to upgrade your product line that shouldn’t exclude upgrades to older products, some of which haven’t seen action in a very long time.

As many of you know, we’ve been testing routers for many years here at Hardware.Info. For the last few years, we’ve been using Ixia’s IxChariot software. However, we’ll soon be switching over to a different testing setup. We’ll be using Ixia's IxVeriWave, which is professional hardware used to place a much heavier workload on a router than was previously possible, and it also enables you to have complete control over the test variables. Routers have been improving over the last few years. These days, it’s not easy to buy a really terrible router. That’s great for buyers, of course, but it makes our job as testers a little but more complicated, because there isn’t much of a difference in performance between different models any more. The differences have shifted from raw throughput to things like stability, range, and maximum workload.

Of course we’re always looking for ways to upgrade our test lab, so that we can adapt to changes like this, and we pay attention to your tips as readers as well. For example, we added a real-world test recently. Our tests aren’t perfect yet, though, and this is becoming more apparent as time progresses and the products on the market keep improving. We’re also looking for ways to expand our tests and have more control over our testing procedures. IxChariot makes that very difficult to achieve in practice. We’d like to run tests with around 20 clients, but it would be difficult to have those physically present in our lab.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Tablet: A Modular 2-In-1 For Professionals

The market for dedicated tablets based on mobile operating systems such as Android and iOS is in decline, but the same can't be said for 2-in-1 detachable Windows PCs. Oculus Rift vs HTC Vive, which should you buy?

When I reviewed the Oculus Rift (http://goo.gl/0EHlh9) and HTC Vive (http://goo.gl/p7wabP) virtual reality headsets, I added a caveat to both pieces saying that I wouldn’t make many direct comparisons with the other, since I wanted to review them on their own merits. Skylake-X 10 comes in Q2 17

Fudzilla has a few details on the new 10 core Skylake-X which will replace the Intel Core i7-6950X Extreme Edition which has just been released. 

Intel has just released its Broadwell-E generation of ten, eight and six cores with Intel Core i7-6950X Extreme Edition being the fastest end the most expensive.  But we have managed to get a few details about its replacement – the Skylake-X.

WD My Passport Wireless Pro Review

Western Digital (WD) introduced the WD My Passport Wireless mobile storage back in 2014 that allowed tech savvy users to wirelessly connect up to eight devices to backup or share content for up to six hours of streaming. The appeal of a wireless drive is high among photographers where many would like to sync files straight from their Wi-Fi enabled camera or their SD memory card straight to the cloud where many have Dropbox accounts or something similar setup.
