T-Break has posted a review on Soltek's 85DRV3 motheboard featuring the brand spanking new 8233A Southbridge from VIA with ATA-133 support.
Today, we have Soltek's SL-85DRV3 in our labs, which is a true follow up to their SL-85DRV. Both the Northbridge and the Southbridge on the 85DRV have been replaced with the A version of VIA's chipset- the P4X266A and the 8233A. We've already looked at the P4X266A chipset in a couple of motherboard reviews, however, the new Southbridge is something to focus on. The last time we took a look at this Southbridge was in Shuttle's AV45 where it appeared as in an Engineering sample and was plagued with problems under Windows XP. The version found in this motherboard will most probably be the retail version of this chip and lets hope VIA has gotten it under control as this will also be used with the upcoming KT333 chipset for the Athlon.Read more
