I have come across many heatsinks in my day, and as such I have encountered every sort of base finish. I have seen really rough surfaces, and I have seen near mirror shines. The Fridge Rock really falls somewhere in between. You can tell that the Copper insert had been machine finished, and then it appeared to be further smoothed separate from the main body.
