Tweakers Australia has posted a review of Sunbeam Tech's Multi-Colored Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lightubes.



The CCFL, or Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lightube kit we received consisted of two models - a tri color one and a bi color one, an inverter, and on/off switch, a Molex connector and some instructions on how to install each kits. Fortunately the package came very well protected with bubble wrap inside a long thin cardboard box. Cold cathodes are like an improved neon, although the problem with neon's were that they where too fat and didn't produce a lot of light. The other downside to neon lights is that their lifespan isn't as long as CCFL, they burn a lot hotter (about 900C compared with about 150C), and use a lot more energy.
