The Cupertino, Calif.-based utility software giant launched on Monday the second major version of its Windows 2000 desktop cloning application, Ghost 6.5. The software is slated to ship this month. Disk cloning enables IT managers to quickly deploy and distribute software in the event of an operating system upgrade or new hardware purchase.
Aside from being Windows 2000 Certified, Ghost 6.5 offers a host of new features, including an enhanced console and new console Wizard, support for file transfers, a Multicast server that can push or pull images from many PCs, a Boot Wizard and, most significantly, a new AutoInstall feature.
