ASUS ROG Strix X470-F Gaming Review

Yeah, Zen+ was launched in April, aka Ryzen 2000 or 12nm optimized Ryzen processors, the 'refresh' SKUs so to say. The new 12nm Zen+ processors will work fine with your X370 chipset based motherboard and vice versa, however, AMD launched the X470 chipset alongside these new Zen+ processors. The new chipset offers small improvements in combo with the new 12nm products. For example, to better facilitate XFR2 options. It has been a year already ever since AMD launched the first generation Ryzen processors. It had a bit of a rocky launch with the inter-core latency discussion a 1080p gaming performance as well as memory support. But the tide definitely turned for AMD as more and more people are considering to purchase an AMD processor-based PC, for their next purchase. The memory compatibility issues are mostly all gone, of course, we'll look at game performance in this article as well. But yes, things are looking good. The new 12nm processor generation can be clocked a notch higher. The upper range frequencies at 4.2~4.3 now are feasible, that also means that on the lower end of the spectrum, AMD is now capable to increase base-clock performance ion the more high-end parts. X470 will give a home to the new Zen+ procs, with socket AM4 and will provide faster DDR4 memory support (as well as all other modern usual suspects like USB 3.1 gen 2, SATA Express, as well as NVMe protocol based M.2 support and surely PCI-Express Gen 3.0).

Corsair RM850x (2018) Power Supply Review

We review the RM850x power supply from Corsair. This 2018 update for the RM series now is offered in a silent RMx series that comes with 80plus Gold certification.

The silent RMx series is offered in five models, the RM550x, RM650x, RM750x, RM850x (all 16cm in length) and A 180mm-long casing for the RM1000x. The numbers in the product names obviously refer to its maximum wattage. It is a Gold certified product series, that means it's 90% efficient at 50% load, hey efficiency matters; years ago PSUs were as low as 70% efficient, meaning that 30% of the used power simply vanishes and is lost in space, whilst you are paying for it on that electricity bill. If your components internally eat away 500W then with that 70% efficient product you'd actually use 650W. With a 90% efficiency, you just saved 100 Watts. The PSU itself is 100% modular as well, for most of you with a side panel window in their chassis a must really as you'll want modular cables. FSP CMT330 Mid-Tower Chassis Review

With two cases under our belt from FSP, we have seen their high-end, and we have seen their low-end. It would only make sense that we also see something they have to offer in the mid-range of what is possible in mid-tower cases. The basic concept with the latest chassis we are looking at is to be very similar to the CMT230 while adding much more bang for the buck for their potential customers.

The next chassis in the line is the slightly bigger brother to the CMT230, and not only is it bigger it is wiser, has more interior space, and has learned a few tricks its smaller sibling has yet to figure out. This chassis does have a more aggressive look, yet at the same time brings a feel of elegance to the mix. There is room for better water cooling options, a new PSU cover is in play, and capabilities of hardware potential has also been increased. To be blunt, this is more of what we expected to see when we opened up the CMT230.

GAMDIAS Hermes P2 RGB Keyboard Review

GAMDIAS is entering the optical keyboard market with their Hermes P2 RGB keyboard. It features great software and onboard customization, a choice of four optical switches with dust and spill resistance and, of course, a strong RGB backlighting game.

The first time I heard of GAMDIAS was when I caught the general media covering the smaller brands at Computex a few years ago. Their products all appeared to be named after Greek gods, which seemed like a gimmick at the time, but looking them up more did provide a background for this. Indeed, the very name GAMDIAS translates to "god of gaming". They went all-in here, with references to Zeus, Mount Olympus and more which you can catch here and here if interested. From where I stand, the name did the job in getting people's attention, and now, the product has to do its part. As such, we take a look at their Hermes P2 RGB keyboard here, and thanks again to GAMDIAS for providing a review sample.

Hyper Sentinel Xbox One Review

Hyper Sentinel is a chaotic and engaging retro-style shoot 'em up that occasionally feels a tad too hectic for its own good.

If you're old enough to know of its existence, the side-scrolling spaceship shooter Uridium for the Commodore64 was one of the most influential titles in the gaming industry of yesteryear. Between the smooth controls and fast-paced laser gun action, reviewers and players alike were singing praises from the hills.

Over time, though, gaming has changed, and the releases of games similar to Uridium have been few and far between. Hyper Sentinel, a brand new Xbox title, draws largely on Uridium for inspiration, bringing the classic game style to modern consoles.

Patriot Viper V760 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Samsung 970 EVO 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe Solid State Drive Review

Samsung Electronics has been a leader in the electronics industry for more than 30 years. Both drives are powered by Samsung's new Phoenix controller and equipped with a PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe 1.3 interface. The biggest difference between the two is the type of NAND used. Where the 970 PRO features Samsung's 2-bit MLC V-NAND flash, the 970 EVO is available with up to 2TB of their 3-bit MLC (TLC) V-NAND flash. The 970 EVO also utilizes Samsung's Intelligent TurboWrite technology, which uses a large SLC buffer to accelerate sequential write speeds.
